Removing/Replacing the DVD head unit.
« on: April 21, 2019, 10:04:42 am »
Our 2004 2350 has a Fisher component that has a DVD player, surround sound, AM/FM combo. It’s mounted in that very narrow slot under the cabinet to the right of the TV as most are in PCs. My question is, how is that unit fastened in that slot?  I’m planning to relocate the TV and it would be nice to upgrade to Blu-ray so I will have to remove the Fisher unit.

Thanks

John,

Someone is going to likely have a better answer that is more applicable to the 2004 build, but the new units are mounted in the same location (as you say) and Phoenix uses a strip of Velcro to fasten down the component so it doesn't move.  Seems immovable with a light effort, but comes loose and out with a positive tug.

All the best,        Mike

Mine is fastened in via velcro strips on the bottom.

My 2006 was fastened with velcro on the bottom.  Still dont have a replacement, we generally just use USB sticks into the TV.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I wasn’t forceful enough when I first looked at it.
