Pickup New 5225
« on: September 13, 2018, 05:36:48 pm »
My wife and I are scheduled to pickup our new 2552 on 9/21/18 in Elkhart. We are trading in our 2016 2400.
Any thoughts or suggestions you have for a smooth transfer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
John

We traded in last year. Other then a lot of up and down steps, transition went smoothly. Just remember when you load up you have to transfer whatever you pack and have bags, totes, etc. Don't bring more than you need. Do a thorough clean out and consolidation of your trade in before you leave home. At least you're upsizing! Congrats!

Congratulations on your new PC!  Ours should not be too far behind yours going down the production line.  Do you know what number yours is (number is on windshield)?  Ours is #60.

One item I have been looking for is a good checklist to confirm everything is working prior to heading home.  I found the following with a quick google search that looks like a good starting point.

http://www.rvlifestyleexperts.com/getting-started/Changin%27%20Gears%20-%20RV%20Inspection%20Checklist.pdf

Others on the forum likely have a better checklist than this.

Another thing to remember that would be easy to forget is to take the title for your trade-in.  We also plan on calling our insurance company so they know we are driving a new RV home, we just want to make sure we are fully insured for the trip back.

Good luck!

Take more boxes or laundry baskets than you think you'll need.  It is amazing how much stuff is in a small MH and it will take some trial and error to find the right place to put things.  Dump and wipe out the bath before you trade because... it is just good manners.  Get the alignment checked in your new unit when you get home so you don't ruin new tires.  We learned that the hard way.  We put shelves in our 2552 shirt closets for more pantry space.  I hope you love yours as much as we love ours.
