Phoenix Cruiser Electrical Plug for Toad
« on: July 12, 2018, 01:17:17 pm »
A few years ago when I had my Blue Ox base plate installed on my Terrain, the guy used a 4-way flat.  It's a pain in the butt (keeps falling off its mount).  I'm going to take it back and have him properly install a round plug and better secured to the base plate.

My question, what plug is used on the Phoenix Cruiser?  7 way round?  I try to reserve questions to Headquarters for more serious matters.

Also, will Phoenix USA hook-up my toad lights during the PDI?

Cheers...   :)(:

My coach (2017) has a 7 way round.

Do you mean install them or just plug in the cable to test?  I doubt they would want to do the install but you would have to ask them.  If all you want is to plug them in and test I don't see why not.  They always seem to be eager to make sure everything works.  And that is a legitimate test to see if their plug works with your toad.  Check turn signals, lights and brake lights.

Thanks, again, JATRAX.    I will now have my local guy install a 7 way round on the front of my toad.  I can then have him make me the necessary "wire" to run from the PC to my Terrain.  Unless I am missing something, that should be all I need.  Then, yes, have Phoenix USA make sure all is good.

Going back many years to my U-Haul days, I assume the wiring is universal on all mfg's.    This is another area where my experience is antiquated, being only familiar with 4 way flats.

Barry I'm no help there.  I would assume so otherwise what's the point of having a standard but I really do not know.

I had my toad wired at the Roadmaster plant which is just across the river from me.  They installed a 6 pin round female plug on the Jeep and then supplied a cable with a 7 way round plug to fit into the coach.  But they required me to bring both the toad and the coach to their shop so I assume the cable they supplied has the wiring to make that work.

When you take your toad in I guess tell them you need a cable from whatever they install to match a 7 way on the coach.
