Not sure about this business.  Have been searching for a possible replacement of our 2100, inquiring numerous times about units listed as 'For Sale'.  Only to receive the same response, that this item is, 'no longer available'.   Would be interested to know if any others had the same experience.

The only two RV consignment dealers we have experience with are both in Texas: Motorhomes of Texas in Nacogodoches, TX http://motorhomesoftexas.com/  and PPL in Houston  https://www.pplmotorhomes.com/used-rvs-for-sale  Both are pretty good and have current online inventory.  You didn't say which RV Consignment Specialist you were dealing with (Arizona?); or, are you buying or selling?  I noticed you live in the Midwest so perhaps you might ask Earl at Phoenix.   :)(:

Thanks Two Hams, for the response.  We will definitely investigate your suggestions.  Correct, Consignment sites have been in Arizona as well as other locations.  All of which appear to offer bogus inventory.

Hi Cropduster,

You own a 2002 2100, a desirable PC floor plan.  And given the model year, you won't be working with piles of money either.  If you were planning to have someone sell it for you on consignment, why not try selling it yourself?  Many people sell vehicles and even homes by them self.  It's not hard, and very safe when done properly.  You only need to ask how.  I have bought and sold many vehicles between private parties, and even sold our old motor home to a fellow across the country on Ebay.

If your plan is to purchase a new PC from Phoenix, it might be worth trading in your old one.

I agree with Ron. Trade it in or sell it yourself, you will do much better financially if you avoid the consignment route.  I let a dealer sell my rig  years ago on consignment, never again, they promise a lot to get the listing then the BS starts. You will probably get well below the wholesale value if you go the consignment route. That was my experience in Florida.

The smaller Phoenix Cruiser models are rare and sell quickly when priced fairly. If you consign an rv you will only net maybe  60-75%  of what it's worth. You should have no problem selling it yourself on RVT.com. Another  popular  site is RVtrader.com, but that  seems to have more dealer listings vs. private  party sales.

I have purchased 2 rv's from local Craigslist private party listings, and sold  one on RVT.com (to an out-of -state buyer). I suspect that many used rv dealers flip desirable  rigs they buy from private parties on Craigslist then resell them on eBay or RVtrader.com.

If you know how to test all the  rv systems and  inspect the coach and mechanical condition of the truck  you can do better buying from a private party.
Good luck with your endeavours.

Thanks to all of you who took the time to respond.  I was originally hoping to locate a 2551/2552 and make a trade with our 2100.  Searches came up with the aforementioned 'Consignment Specialists'.  Sites which appeared to offer every make/model of RV produced in the last twenty years.  All of which were 'unavailable' when an inquiry was made.

Maybe it's legit, but it doesn't sound right to me.  It almost sounds like paying someone else to find your motor home, a ludicrous idea to me.

If I were in the market for a used motor home, I'd buy first from a real private party, second from a brick-n-mortar dealer.  I would start my morning by internet shopping with coffee in-hand.

Thats how Mrs V found our 2350 at a small dealer. On Craigslist. Took a few weeks, but well worth it.

As far as selling, I would (and do) use Craigslist.
