I know a lot of you folks utilize a ScanGuage to monitor all engine functions and if you do not you should...unit gives you everything you can think of from MPG, averages everything, clears any codes that might come up, etc.  I have the unit (and two book instructions) that is calibrated for the E-450; I thought I could use it on my new diesel coach but of course the ports and units are completely different!  I made a bracket that slides into the coin holder on the dash and with Velcro the unit sits perfectly right in front of your eyes and looks OEM.  if anyone is interested please message me with a solid offer.   Thanks, Ron G.

Love, love, love my ScanGauge.  Can also easily be removed and placed in another vehicle to check and clear any issues.

Are you saying you have a ScanGauge that only works with the Ford E450? I have used my ScanGauge II on both diesel and gas mohos without problems.

The onboard port on a Freightliner M2 is round not rectangular and there is no adapter from ScanGuage to make the OMD2 fit.   Furthermore, according to ScanGuage the ScanGage for gas vehicles (including the E-450) is a totally different processor compared to the diesel unit. Tthe diesel unit gives  many more readouts including transmission temp, etc.  Perhaps a diesel pickup utilizes the same rectangular port and therefore you can utilize the OMD2, but the larger class diesels are different.

My new ScanGuage came that was "suppose" to fit any and all diesels but of course the 2017 chassis's now have a different port that ScanGuage has to modify their current plugs to accommodate.  The US Government sure makes it easy for small company's to prosper!   Not sure why the ports have had to be changed but I am sure it has something to do with the new smog equipment that has been installed.  That is life!

I mounted a Scan Gauge on top of my backup camera monitor as pictured on our 2007 E350 and I love it.  I helps me to drive smarter for the sake of fuel economy.  I typically display these 4 different types of data on the screen.

- Instant MPG
- Average MPG
- MPH
- TPS

TPS is the Throttle Position Sensor, a method of telling me the position of the gas pedal.  Depending on the terrain and winds, I might be pressing hard on the gas pedal without realizing it.  If I back off a little so the TPS number is more typical, the fuel economy can sometimes increase tremendously.
