Most PC owners likely know how to properly latch the battery compartment door on the PC.  But since it took me almost a year to learn this “trick” in the latching process, I thought other new owners might benefit from reading this post.

While trying to secure that door today I couldn’t get one side to latch.  The door looked like it was fully latched but it was only being held in place on one side.

I finally realized that the little arm that swings out at the edge of the door would not enter the slot in the body of the PC.  The latch knob on the door had been turned in the locking direction so far that the arm was pushed too far into the compartment.  I didn’t realize that the arm moves along a threaded bar as the knob is turned.

To fix the problem I just needed to turn the latch knob around several times in the unlock direction until the latch was aligned with the slot.  (Of course, reverse this if the latch had been moved too far away from the compartment.)

When the latch is properly adjusted it should only take a quarter turn (or a little more) on the knob to fully secure the door.

The latches on the Sani-Con compartment operate in the same manner.

Yep, you got it figured out and written well.

In my earliest days with our rig, I thought all was well latched, later to learn otherwise.  It requires "attention" to assure it is latched & well secured.  It is not a "Give It No Thought" latching mechanism.

This forum is great!! I was having an issue with the latch on my sanicon and well was very frustrated. Did a quick search and found the answers I needed. Quick adjustment on the latch all is better!  tymote
