For anyone thinking of pickup-based cutaway chassis for Class C's, here's one advantage of the van-based cutaways: It's easier to get up from the slightly higher, more chair-like E-Series front seats than from the F-Series, and it seemed like the roof was a little higher above the seat-bottom in the E-Series than in the F-Series before one moves back far enough and can stand up where the roofs have been cut. Of course, the pickup-based units didn't have the large doghouse to squeeze your legs past or even slide the seats back to get past. Yes, the pickup chassis can have more rugged suspension, easier engine access, more load capacity, and sometimes more horsepower, but the van chassis would seem to be better for most people for above reasons.
