Our 2350 had an intermittent rattle that seemed to emanate from above my head - it was driving me crazy.  I tried everything I could think of.  HDTV antenna - nope.  Cut a hole in the panel behind the TV and wrapped all the cables - nope.  Put some padding around the rod that holds up the hood thinking it might be radiating up the pillar - nope.

Finally, after doing another search on this forum, I came across a thread where Ron D. described pulling down on the cabinet above his head while driving.  I tried that and my rattle stopped.  Apparently, my chassis cutaway was rattling against the bottom of the cabinet.  So I just drove two three-inch deck screws through the bottom of the cabinet on each side above the driver and passenger, two inches inside the cabinet cleat.  I called Kermit before attempting this fix and he said that if they do this at the factory, they don't bother with a pilot hole so that's how I did it.

THE RATTLE IS GONE!!!  Not only am I happy, but my wife is even happier.  We are leaving in a few days for a three week trip and she said that although the rattle didn't bother her, my constant obsession with the rattle did!  :)

We have the same problem and have tried multiple fixes without success, so we are cautiously excited about your posting. How about a photo to help clarify positioning of the added fasteners. Thanks.

My apologies for not posting a picture!  I am not going to have access to my PC for a few days so here is a link to the original thread by Ron that provided the solution for me - never posted a link in this forum, so hope this works.

Ron has a great shot of the chassis cutaway in that thread so you can see the cut metal roof that apparently is the culprit.  He also includes a photo of where he installed the screws. Kermit recommended a 3" wood screw fastened 1 inch inside the cleat at the bottom of the cabinet door opening.  I see Ron used a different type screw without a pointed end.  I'm not sure whether driving the screw through the bottom of the cabinet actually grabs the metal of the cutaway roof and draws it up, or just pushes it away from the bottom of the cabinet.

In any case, the fix worked for me.  I just used two screws evenly spaced inside the door on each cabinet, about 2 inches from the cleat.  Kermit recommended 1 inch inside, Ron used 3 inches, so I decided to average them and use 2 inch spacing inside the cleat.  I just positioned the screw and drilled it in without any pilot hole.

As he did with you, Kermit had suggested I use deck screws.  But I wanted screws with larger flat heads and fine threads thinking they would better resist pushing through the cabinet bottom with the bigger heads, and better resist coming loose with the finer threads.

I am glad you found and benefited from my 2 year old post.  I guess I am not wasting my time after-all. :) :) :)

Our unit makes so much noise going down the road its difficult to be annoyed by just one. I'm betting I can locate some of them IF I wasn't driving at the time. Until my better half is comfortable driving I guess I better get used to it. Then again there's a whole lot going on in a RV, don't they all make a few noises to some extent?

Aside from 'normal' road noise, almost all of our squeaks, rattles and vibrations stemmed from the stuff we stored in the rig.  We isolated them one by one and pay more attention to how load something new. There were a few rattles caused by things like shades or cabinent doors, but if you have a partner with good ears, you'll find them.  The one noise hardest to locate turned out to be the way I stored some cans in the outdoor storage cabinet under the sink area.

We have a loud squeak/chirp in the side of our slide. It goes away for a while after the slide has been used - but always returns.

We've had other minor squeaks and rattles but most of it is from things we've packed.

The only other "squeak" we've had of any significance was hard to locate as well.  After crawling around on the floor while my wife was driving, opening the slide a bit, opening the entry door while moving, etc., I finally located this particular squeak.  The squeak was most prevalent when going around a left curve in the road!  I thought it might be the generator since it was loudest when I had my ear to the floor just above the generator.  I then pushed on the generator while parked on the side of the road and duplicated the squeak.  Some lubrication on the generator mounts eliminated that squeak.

All is well in the squeaks and rattles department for us!

This forum has been very helpful in helping to identify and control coach noises. This weekend I implemented the solution outlined earlier in this topic stream. I have yet to attempt to address the noise from the engine cover (lack of noise insulation) and I've given up on the A/C and generator noises; otherwise lots of squeaks are now quieted thanks to the creative solutions others have shared.
