Entry Door Latch Breaks Wife Stuck Inside
« on: July 12, 2015, 07:42:54 pm »
We pulled into a service plaza in Ct. I stepped out of the driver's door walked around the mh  checking it out when I heard my wife knocking on the door, she tried to open with no success.
Using a fork I was able to push the latch in and the door opened. The latch popped out with a spring.
We returned home with only the dead bolt securing the door.  Problem is I have searched the Internet trying to find parts, so far no success.   Tomorrow I call Phoenix.  I was hoping to find parts instead of the full assembly so I would have spares in case this happens again.  And yes I freed the wife

Hi Tom
I wish mine was that simple. The latch actually snapped off.  It will need to be replaced.

If you are Ebay savy, you might find them sold there reasonably priced.  Maybe by the assembly and reuse your tumblers so you don't have to buy all your extra keys again.

Hi Ron,
After checking all over the internet I could not locate parts, I believe the product is made by Trimark.  So, I called our friends at Phoenix and a new door latch assembly is on the way.

Of Coarse!  Call Phoenix and get taken care of promptly with the proper parts. "Duh" to me for suggesting Ebay. :)

Ron,
I liked the EBay idea. I'll always try to get my parts locally or online, but in this case I could not find the item.  Just happy I purchased  from a great company with good customer service.  Also, I will always be thankful to the guy in Illinois that helped me make the wise choice.   :)(:
