Rotate passenger seat on 2552
« on: March 07, 2015, 12:33:50 pm »
We tried to rotate the passenger seat but it hangs up on the B-pillar. We moved the seat all the way back, pulled the rotate lever, and rotated clockwise but the seat hits the side of the cockpit just aft of the passenger door. The seat won't rotate anti-clockwise. What are we doing wrong?

Thanks.

Sounds like you are doing it correctly, I slide it all the way back to clear the B-pillar and then slide it forward a bit so the back of the seat clears the console to finish the rotation.  Are you sure it is all the way back, I would try sliding the seat all the way forward and then all the way back.  Sorry I don't have anything else.

The seats rotate toward cab center so isn't that counter-clockwise for the passenger seat? I find it easier with the door open though it can be done with the door closed. I'm pretty sure I put it all the way forward to get the release of the locking mechanism, then move it forward and back as needed to clear the console and side column.

You are probably already doing this, but just in case, make sure that the seat back itself is fully upright, not leaning back at all.  Like Frazzled, I go counter-clockwise and I have it all the way forward except for a tiny portion where the seat hits that center console too snuggly.

We had a rotating seat in our Born Free and now have one in our Phoenix. They are a bit tricky but once you get the hang of it it's not too bad.
All the advice your getting is accurate, as was mentioned make sure the seat back is not reclined at all, I tilt ours front as far as it will go when rotating.
The slide on our seat was very tight when we got it which made it difficult to slide back and forth when rotating. Some WD-40 took care of that now it works great!

Let us know how you make out.

Good luck!

 ;)Got this from Earl:
1. Pull the lever that reclines the seat back, what you want to do is let
the seat back come as far forward as it will.
2. adjust the seat so that the left corner of the seat base is just about
one inch from the engine cover.
3. Pull the handle for the swivel rotate the seat counter clockwise, so that
the seat back goes by the door.

That, of course, worked perfectly. Thanks for the help, people.
