Thank you for your replies. I see a Scan  gauge was mentioned. Is this a add on or is it something on the PC instrument dash? (WH)  Thanks.  Tim

Tim:  It's an add-on device, by Linear Logic, that plugs into the OBD2 port on your car or RV (usually below the dash under the steering wheel area) It can display a wide variety of engine info as well as show what the real problem is when your engine trouble light comes on (and can clear the trouble so the light goes off, like a mechanic does). I have the ScanGauge 2 and just noticed they have a new ScanGauge-E which can graphically display fuel consumption.

I find mine useful on the road, if nothing more than to make me feel more confident that all is well.

With our older 2007 PC with a standard windshield rear view mirror, since the mirror was useless for looking behind the rig, I mounted the back-up camera there, and later mounted the Scangauge on top of it as shown.  Now I don't hit my head on the monitor anymore, and it is so much easier to glance at. 
  
The bracket I used to mount the monitor is part number 250-8088 at T&A Service and Supply 800-658-3423  $48 plus shipping.

I am sure you could mount a Scangauge on top of the center mirror in the same manner.
