Proof of Purchase

Just in case you have to deal with warranty issues on the road - always carry a proof of purchase of the RV with you.  One of the igniters on our cooktop has been sticky since day one.  Yesterday it finally became inoperable so I called Atwood and the first thing they told me I needed was proof of purchase.  We've always carried ours with us so no problem but I just thought that maybe anyone new to the RV world might not think of it so hopefully this will be helpful to someone else.

That is a good reminder.

I got a fat white 3-ring binder that I keep everything related to our rig inside.  Exception is the Ford chassis manual kit which is kept next to it, both stored here.


I do question "Proof Of Purchase" as I got the owners manuals and installation manuals for everything, but no actual receipt as PC-USA purchased them from the suppliers, not me personally.

If you keep a copy of your sales receipt showing the VIN and date of pickup in the rig, you will have proof of purchase for everything installed as original equipment.

Tom,

  That is what was required for our warranty issue.  The installation manuals and owners manuals are not considered "proof of purchase".  We too keep the PC-USA receipt for the RV that shows date and VIN.
