It seems a hit-or-miss whether or not your Ford chassis is already equipped with keyless entry.  You might only need to buy fobs and program them per the instructions in your owner's manual.

For me, if my 07 Ford E350 chassis was fob-ready, I'd buy & program them to be more "complete", but honestly would leave them home to minimize the bulk in our pockets.  There are so many keys on our key chains because we tow, and there are keys for all that too.  My key chain resembles the bunch my grade school gym teacher in the 60's had clipped to his belt.  Adding a fob in my jean pocket will just make an uncomfortable situation much worse.

Just a thought.  As an alternative to a FOB have you considered a wireless KEYPAD?  It mounts to the PC and has all the functionality of a FOB without having to carry it around. We had it on an F150 and it worked great, no need to carry keys to the beach.

I bought a kit at autozone, but the instructions had me cutting wires inside the door which I wasn't comfortable doing.  Besides, like Ron, too many keys plus fob  was just too much.  I did have a f100 pickup that had the key pad, and I really liked that.  If it works on a pc, that's what I'd recommend.

This was our experience with getting remotes for the cab doors.  Worked on both the E-350 and the E-450.

ragoodsp,
We had a 2010 E350 2350 and after suggesting that we would like to have remotes after we arrived to pick up the unit, PC called a local Ford Rep and he came over to PC and programmed two remotes for us.  They provide us with remote lock/unlock for the two front doors and the panic alarm.  The cost was $250.  When we traded in our 2350 for our new E450 , 2011 2552 we again asked PC to have two remotes for the unit.  When we arrived they were already programmed and ready to go. They work for door lock/unlock but do not have an alarm system for break-in protection.  That would require going to a private alarm installer.  The Ford Rep said the system is already there and just needs the remotes and programming which he did with some sort of a computer box.
I just found my receipt for the remotes and it says, "Reprogram smart junction box for keyless remotes.  Program remotes and show customer how to operate system".

There is a section in my 2007 E350 owners manaul on how to program a new remote, though I thought my chassis lacked the receiver.

I bought new and used remotes off Ebay for our 2006 Jeep Liberty, 1998 Grand Prix, and 5 different C5 Corvettes.  All remotes were easily programed per the instructions in the owners manuals.

When it came to the Corvettes, I bought those used cars needing a little TLC and thay always lacked the remotes, spare keys, owners manuals, and other add-on stuff.  I always supplied the new owner with everything, just like it was a brand new vehicle.  The feel-good factor is a pleasure to watch.  When they pay that much, they deserve it all.
