Macerator hose organization
« on: July 16, 2019, 07:39:48 pm »
I'm increasingly annoyed with trying to store the macerator hose in the storage compartment.  The poorly placed spring holders and the hose length just don't seem to want to neatly work together so I can shut the door.

So, before I reinvent the wheel to satisfy my OCD, does anyone have a solution they installed and like?

Thanks.

How many clips do you have in the storage compartment?  I struggled with mine at first but when I had the rig in to Elkhart for some repairs last summer they added a couple more clips.  Problem solved.  I don't remember how many I had before and could not tell you what they added, just that they did and the hose folds up much better now.

Post a picture of your storage compartment and maybe I can tell if there is a difference between yours and mine.

Thanks for the offer, more clips is the direction I was going.  I'd send pics but the RV is in the body shop, maybe I need to post a tips and tricks item so other don't do what I did....

Our 2552 only came with 3 clips and that is plenty.  Keep in mind that if you have to stretch the hose out at a campground, it takes a bit for it to go back to its original length.  So putting it away can be a little more cumbersome.  Otherwise if I arrange mine properly, it goes in well.  I can take a picture if that helps on the arrangement.  The short version is

  • Run 1 - R to L nearest the door
  • Run 2 - L to R tucked inside of Run 1 (uses the first clip at the beginning of the Run...I use a tight turn and go straight in the clip)
  • Run 3 - R to L sends it over Runs 1 and 2 thru the top 2 clips...last clip should be close to the handle (too far away and the handle gets in the way of the door)
