Upgrading an old Dometic Duo-Therm to a Penguin II 651816HXX1C0-01. The new unit comes with a Molex 194030014 120V power connector. My older unit had a junction box for power connection and the instructions for the new unit claims a junction box is supplied and is used to make power connections; this is blatantly untrue.
The Molex part number is 194030014 and I'm not able to find a mating unit for it yet. I called City Electric and they couldn't locate one.
I called the vendor, Country Camping Corner in Kings Mountain, NC. They apparently didn't know they were talking to an electrician by the way they bandied about unrelated terms. I think they're one of those "we just sell this stuff" outfits. They first told me I would have to cut this Molex connector off so I could connect power and when I said I'll bet y'all won't honor the warranty if I do. The next words out of his mouth were "yeah, you're going to have to buy a connector".
I sent a support request to Dometic; hope I live long enough to get a response. :-) Also calling some vendors online tomorrow.
Has anyone else encountered this? Solved it?
