Lagun install
« on: July 26, 2020, 09:03:36 pm »
Follow up on my previous thread.  First a shout to Lagun.  Found on lagun site a sale for 2nds, $40 cheaper.  Ordered Friday received Sunday afternoon, free shipping.  Couldn’t find a scratch on it anywhere!  I’m going to mount this on the trim around the slide, looking at it, on the right side.  My original thought was a problem with the horizontal arm having enough clearance from the slide trim to rotate.  JJ sent some pics in the previous post that shows Pc used 2 3/4” (1 1/2”) pieces to “trim out” the mounting plate to give some swing clearance.  Looking at mine tonight it looks like only one 3/4” block will space out enough to do what I need.  Lagun provides 4 bolts to mount the base, but looks like I can only use 2 bolts on the right side(can’t get nuts on the left side) some heavy wood screws and glue.  The tightening handle will interfere and won’t allow full rotation, but will be enough for what I need.  Will follow up.

Wow, that was fast.  Sounds like you got a good deal.  It appears Phoenix used stainless steel screws and construction adhesive for the spacers on ours.  Looking forward to the photos.

Lagun is a very nice swinging table mount.
Ok, get everything installed.  Used a 3/4” piece of mahogany for the spacer.  It was more than enough for clearance.  Had to make my own bolts, those supplied though nice, were too short.  The trick to mounting is keeping every thing dead perfect plumb.  Got about 160* swing, which is plenty for me.  Made a table top out of edge glued mahogany
, 4 sprayed coats of poly over red chestnut minwax stain.  This stain is the closest I can find to the fake cherry used in the PC.
Getting pictures here is too much of a challenge.

Good to read the project turned out well.  What size table top did you end up with?
