Couple of things.....

 Covid-19 Update
PHOENIX USA RV is open as an essential Indiana business and ready to build your Phoenix Cruiser. We are embracing social distancing, hand washing and overall office and plant cleanliness to keep our employees and customers safe.  2o2  (just noticed this on their website)

Also, just wondering, How do people use their reclining couch?
We have still not used our new 2552 nearly enough to figure everything out but it seems to me the pull out footrests are somewhat cumbersome.
It seems like it would be difficult to get to the recliners with both of them out.
So how do you use yours? Do you put both footrests out while relaxing to watch TV? Use a portable footrest? Put your legs on your partner?  :beg
We also have the swing away tables which seem to get in the way a bit when not in use.

I'm sure we will be totally comfortable once we get used to spending more time in the rig but just curious how others do it.

Thanks, Jim G.

I can't say about the new coaches, but we replaced the pretty-but-uncomfortable dinette in our 2008 2350 with a reclining couch, and it was by far the best upgrade we've done, beyond replacing the factory mattress with a real 8 inch mattress.

Yes, the footrests get in the way, but they're easy to retract.  A portable ottoman would be much worse.  The removable side-mounted TV trays are essential, since we gave up the dinette for a comfortable place to watch TV.  And ours has a fold-down arm in the middle, which reveals cup holders and a electrical plug with USB charging ports.  By the way, we also removed the barrel chair, which was just in the way.  And we mounted the TV on an extendable mount, to improve the viewing angle.

My only regret is that we couldn't find a couch this useful that was as high in quality as the typical Phoenix furniture.  The padding is a little thin and the fake leather looks pretty fake.  But we only use our coach a few weeks a year, so it'll do.  If I were Phoenix, I would study the Shop4Seats "Deleon", and figure out how to offer something even nicer for Phoenix customers.  If they figured out some way to convert it into a guest bed for the grandkids, I'd be tempted to swap mine for the factory model.

Interesting comment regarding how uncomfortable your dinette was.

Like you, our 2007 2350 original dinette shown here was extremely uncomfortable.  The foam in the cushions were very weak and soft of which my 180 pound body bottomed-out on the plywood.  The cloth fabric added to our troubles.  It would not allow for sliding.  So between the sink-in cushions plus the slide-less fabric, I felt glued into the dinette.  The only way I could shift my weight or get out from the dinette, was to put may hands down and lift my body.

Around 4 or 5 years later, I replaced the cushions with the dark green vinyl ones shown here.  They were offered as an upgrade in 2007.  The foam is very different, a much MUCH more dense foam plus a thin layer of memory foam.  The cushions are physically a bit thinner over-all which makes the dinette more spacious.  My body does not sink into the foam like before.  I don't bottom-out on the plywood.  I shift my weight and slide in and out without a fuss.  These cushions are SO MUCH more comfortable than the standard cushions.  Irene and I sit at the dinette playing Scrabble after dark.  About every hour we get up for a stretch.  Before, we couldn't last 20 minutes, followed with the dreaded thought of getting back in there.

We fight over the 3rd captain chair when it's movie time.  Actually we switch places during intermission.  Having two would be ideal for that, but not for our everyday need for a dinette.  Like everything "RV", it's all about the trade-offs.

We have only used our PC a handful of times and still learning. When we sit to watch TV or read and listen to music my wife sits on the sofa she is short enough to fit laying down and I move the euro chair out the the middle of the living area and that's where I sit. Other times I have sat in the recliners alone and do recline. It is a bit of a PITA to pull out the recliner but it is pretty comfortable. We do not have the swing out tables.

That's where the swing-out TV mount comes in.  It makes it so you can both watch TV from the couch without getting a crick in your neck.   It wasn't an easy mod.  I had to figure out a way to stow it for travel in a way that takes the load off the mount and keeps it from swinging out on its own.  With the giant TV's the new PC's come with, it might be tougher to engineer, but it's something the factory ought to look into.

BlueBlaze: They have!
My 2552 TV is on a swing out mount from the factory.
Funny thing, I spent over a half hour trying to dress the wires behind the TV with Velcro wraps  a couple of weeks ago.
(I'm kind of finicky about wires, my job)
In the end the only way I could get them so that the TV mount would latch properly in the travel position, was pretty much the way it came from the factory! (nod)

A while back I read here about somebody that uses one of those collapsable ottomans in front of the couch. Wonder how mant folks here do that. Also provides a bit of storage.

Frank: I opted to not get the Euro Chair and got the cabinet to the left of the door instead. Wondering if I will regret that, but we do love the cabinet. Figured I could always put the chair in later if needed though it would be a tight fit when travelling. (if we ever get a chance to do that  roflol )

Someone on this forum did a serious modification to mount his TV in the space where the DVD player is.  Maybe he will chime in and post his finished product again.

He was posting pictures during the process.  I remember thinking he was destroying his PC.  To my surprise, his final product was beautiful.  It was perfect for people with a slide-out couch arrangement.  After that, I felt Phoenix should be doing that inside every PC made with a living area slide-out.

Hello Jim
Like you I messed with the wiring for the TV. Then I got curious about what space was behind the swivel TV mount's bulkhead. So I took it apart and there isn't a lot of space but it allows you to access between the drivers side cabinets and passenger side cabinets.  I threw some audio cables etc. in the space as well. You can see the 2 accesses I made on each side of the TV bracket.  You can also see how I ended up running my wiring to the TV. I will say that I was also having some difficulty getting the TV bracket to latch, it took more force then it should have, and during this mod I figured it out now it works as it should have.

Wow Lance! You never stop!   :)(:
Those small new storage areas would make a great place to hide valuables.
I like what you did with the wiring, and can see where that would keep clear of the pinch points I was finding.
Were the original wires long enough to do that or did you add extensions?

Hello Jim
The original wires were long enough, they were just stuffed back behind the bulkhead.  When I took that bulkhead out I traced out all the wires and found that they had them bundled up, so it worked out.

We rarely use the footrest with the reclining couch. We have a coffee table that we set up in front of the couch. It is the foot rest when needed. We had it in our previous MH. It is heavy wood, but folds up and stores under the drivers side bed. Purchased from CW. We also have a “butterfly” chair from Target that stores under the bed also. We don’t use it very often. Mainly when we need extra seating for visitors. We have the cabinet also.
We usually don’t both sit on the couch a lot. I usually go relax on the bed to read or watch tv at night.
The table that came with the PC stays home. We eat off of trays.
You’ll figure out what works best for you when you get more time.
