Not storing the grill in the shower anymore....
« on: September 08, 2019, 08:33:37 pm »
Had to raise the shelf 3-inches now it fits.  Next, Im going to install a second shelf that hinges down from above to store the mat in the upper portion of the compartment.

Ah yes the grill .. having limited storage on our little Trend side compartment , 2 grills later , I found that taking the pins off the lid and packing it separately , it will shoehorn into space pretty well ! We also put the lid and grill in separate plastic bags to keep mess to a minimum . Also use clevis pins for hinges for easier install .  Is that a Weber Q you have in there ??

Yes, Q1200.  Fits without disassembly.  Also added a quick connect to compartment ahead of door and a hose on the grill....

I have the Q2000 and it fits on the shelf. The only thing I do is reverse the handle so the outer door closes. I wanted to run a line from the main tank for the Q but I see no way of going past the drive shaft easily.  To alleviate this issue I mounted a platform  on the dual receiver to carry a 20 pound cylinder of propane . I Carry a 15 foot hose with a regulator that stores under the lid of the Q during transport.

Your shelf must be much deeper than on a 2910.  Our shelf is maybe only 2/3 as deep as the drawer.

Our frig is on the passenger side so i was able to tap into that line.

Here is what we use...a Cuisinart Grillster, legs fold up for storage and it fits just fine in the outside storage rollout.

Every once in a great while, I have the rare opportunity to rub all your noses into the dirt.  ;)

Our 2007 PC-2350 has a massive outdoor storage compartment.  We store a lot stuff inside it including our Coleman table-top gas grille in a case.  I think Irene and I can both fit inside it and close the door.

Phoenix reconfigured model 2350 around 2010 which made the compartment smaller.  But you can rub my nose in the dirt by telling me about all the "other" things made better because of the change.  :'(
Trade-offs, trade-offs, oh so many trade-offs. :)

I hope you all realize that I am just "playing with you" here with that comment of mine.
