Refrigerator Drain tube and collection tray
« on: June 17, 2019, 06:57:25 pm »
Im still learning so much thanks you All. I took off the outside panel that houses the refrigerator, and notice the collection tray was full, I emptied it by using wadded up paper towels and sponged it out. Which was not the easy thing to do,I noticed the end of the drain white drain plug had a black cap in it with a small pin hole that allowed the water to drain, anyone know what the purpose of this black hose ca is ?. I know check my collection try before every departure. and have noticed it fills up fast. Is that normal? Has anyone used anything other than the mounted collection tray. seems like putting the drain tube in to a metal bottle might work and easier to drain.. any tips would be appreciated .

The small plug prevents bugs.
I added another tube and run it out the holes in the side cover. I didn't like the water overflowing into the cabinet. Looks bad but works fine.
