Window glazing
« on: January 23, 2019, 08:44:53 pm »
I have cracks in several of the window glazing on the outside of the windows. The rubber looks as though it has 1. shrunk & 2, dried out and cracked. The previous owner simply covered it with electrical tape.  The window are Hehr.  Has anyone else had a similar issue and / or replaced the glazing?  I am looking for the the "style"  and a good supplier.  Also any tips on removal and installing.

Thanks,
Doug

Supplier listed in that thread here - https://www.pellandent.com/rv_products_list.aspx?CategoryID=303  With some good pics of different styles.

Welcome to the forum!

Our 2006 has the same problem, Mrs V wants to fix it with newer flush mount windows.  :lol

I just odered the window glazing sample kit for my back window. If that doesn't work I will ask Carol at Phoenix if they can sell it by the foot.

I bought a neglected 2005 Phoenix Cruiser 2350 that had sat in the Texas sun most of it's life. But it had low mileage and interior was in near perfect shape. The outside was completely sun oxidized and almost all of the exterior plastic and rubber had either lost it strength, color and/or shape. I replaced all the window glazing and found the best deal from Carol at Phoenix Cruiser. Plus they knew exactly what I needed for a very reasonable price. Here are some before and after pictures.

But if you replace the glazing do it in a place where the temperature is over 70 degrees. If done in a cooler temperature the rubber will not shape to the curves properly and the edges may not catch into the metal grooves firmly.

zolman,

Your story is a reminder to us all.  CALL PHOENIX FIRST with anything you need.  That is one of the excellent reasons for owning a Phoenix Cruiser.

Very familiar! My 2008 spent a period of time in New Mexico and Florida.  I have ordered my replacement glazing with Pellant. I cant wait to install it and have those windows look great!  Someone put a black gooey looking substance on to cover gaps. That'll be my biggest challenge I'm sure.
