PI EMS-HW30C Error code E 9
« on: July 07, 2018, 06:01:06 pm »
While hooked up at the factory in mid-May, my Progressive Industries surge suppressor unit read "E 0" - everything normal. After a 600+ mile drive home and connected to a dedicated 120VAC 15A line at home, I get an error code "E 9". The manual says this is a datalink error and to call PI Tech Support.

Has anyone experienced this? Is this a difficult fix? Thanks a lot - John (2018 2552)

Try unplugging the phone like wire to remote display and main unit and replug. that may reset the error.

Agree with @Keelhauler.  If that doesn't fix it check for a pinch in that data cable.  I cannot remember if the data cable is hard wired at the EMS or if it has a plug at both ends.  But you need to check both ends.
