Generator Oil Change
« on: March 06, 2018, 11:15:32 am »
Time for the first oil change on Onan RV-QG 4000.  Wondering what oil others use.  Am leaning towards 15-40.  Some on internet are using 15-40 Mobil 1 full synthetic.  We cruise from May through October mainly in Midwest and East.  Thoughts/experience appreciated.

The Onan manual says SAE30. Any good quality.

I am a Mobil 1 and Amsoil fan. 15w/40 should be fine.

Oil threads are a slippery slope! Use one you believe in and change often considering no filter. Personally I use Diesel engine oil but just be sure to use.         ..........oil

I use 10/30 full synthetic.  Change first at 50 hrs, then about every 100 hrs thereafter.  I have 338hrs on my 2015  2551.  Zero issues.
