Just Picked Up our New 2910D!
« on: June 25, 2018, 09:03:58 am »
First, I want to thank the team at Phoenix for an excellent purchase experience!  From the time we arrived to purchase to day we left for home, we received excellent service from EVERYONE at Phoenix.  Yes, there were some very minor fixes and also some "add on" requests by us, but every time we said, "could you do this" or "we need to adjust or fix this" (and there weren't many of these!), Phoenix responded with IMMEDIATE attention.
Many thanks to Keith, Barry, Dave and Bob (Bobby) for the attention we received - it doesn't get any better than this - I guess we should know since this is our 5th RV!

Thanks Ron - I always enjoy reading your comments - lots of wisdom there.  So, I will pick you brain.  We love the sliding screen door ... except after a week of use, the actual screen has jumped out of the lower frame.  Actually, the sliding of the door is "balky" at best.  I can't be the only one with this problem.  Is there a "fix"?

Starlifter, I don't think the screen is attached at bottom of door.  Mine isn't and saw another last week that wasn't.  I think the tension when door is closed keeps the screen taunt at the bottom of the door frame.

I agree with swiftboot's comment.

Try this.  Carefully pull out the entire screen from the spring tension roller, one of you standing inside handling the upper portion, the other standing outside handling the lower portion.  Once fully out and bunched up in your hands, carefully lead it uniformly back inside the roller housing.  Treat it the same as you would re-align a generic spring-tension horizontal window shade of this type at home.

This is correct. When we were being given our walkthrough by Barry, I saw the bottom of the screen had popped out. He said to just give it a tap and it should pop back into the track at the bottom. He told us it was made that way so if something/someone accidentally walks into the screen, it won't damage the screen or the door, it will just pull out and you pop it back in. Hope that makes sense.

The screens are not attached at the bottom (or top) so that if something (dog, wife, whatever) runs through it there is no damage. They just run in tracks at the top & bottom.  Mine has popped out occasionally.  The dog is very careful and has had no issues.  The wife................. :-D

Anyway, just run it in and out a couple times and it should go back in the track.  If not it is cloth mesh not wire so just help it go back in the track.

Congratulations. what a great a experience. Well if it is your first Phoenix some things are a little different and many are similar. Ours (Mine) is 2016 and need to get on the road and enjoy. It is a 2910T. 3 slide. Now I have to learn to be the sewer operator and water tank monitor. Jim died April 25th... So this is indeed a new travel route this year when I finally get things settled so I can hit the road. This unit has space for our yellow lab and she has travelled since she was very young so she is at home where ever we wander. Our unit is 50 amp so we have 2 air conditioners since we are in Florida and many places are quite warm in the summer it is suitable. When generator is on one runs to keep interior comfortable for Miss Elle ....Missed keeping up with what's happening for a while. glad to see new purchases. See ya.
Patricia
A new day has dawned now only traveling with Miss Elle . Jim will be watching over us.

Patricia,

Just read your post and wanted to offer our sympathy on Jim’s passing.  With all your knowledge you have shown on this forum we think you’ll do fine with the PC.
