Hart Springs campground Bell, Florida

Thinking about spending a couple of days at Hart Springs campground, Bell, Florida on our way to points south (Koreshan State Historic Site). Trying to get a rough handle on what days where. Of course it never works out according to plan. RVReviews doesn't give it the highest ratings, but we're concerned about activities there and in the general area. Other than the springs and nearby Otter Springs, is here much of anything else? Otter Springs seems to have the more RV typical park, but we are still campers at heart and love our trees, and not as nice springs. Or so I've been lead to believe.
You thoughts and/or opinions.

We stayed at Manatee St Park, not to far from Bell.  Close to Cedar Key, Nice town to visit.  Park has nice spring and river.
When you get to Koreshan SP go to Lovers Key SP,
Save travels.

At Koreshan SP now for our second day, and just returned from Lovers Key. Being tourist, had to see Sanibel & Captiva Islands. Boy a lot of ha-do about nothing in our opinion. DW really wants to walk the trail here at the park and see the bamboo forest, but it just keeps raining off and on and the mosquitoes are having a field day.
Lovers Key was nice from what we saw, again, every time we got out of our RV it started raining again.
Hart Springs is a beautiful spring set up, but the park is strange, at least to us, we're used to designated sites and spaces. Where this park seems to say, "you're at electric box #XXX. Go park". People parked all over. But I would stay there again.
Leaving tomorrow and stopping at Camping World for a few items & propane, then off to Fort DeSoto Campground Pinelas County Park. Which was one of the main reasons to be down this far in Florida. Hopefully the rain will break & I get a chance to grill some fresh fish.

Sorry to hear about all the rain you are encountering.  When you are in Fort Desoto go to Omaddys Restaurant in Gulfport FL.  It is our favorite restaurant in SW Florida.  Check out their steak sandwich.  It is the best.
I have a question for you.  We are going to stop at St Louis on our way to the Phoenix Cruiser Reunion at Sisters, Oregon.  Do you know of any good campgrounds in the area.

I'm sure Garmp will give you some suggestions, but we stayed at a park in downtown, and went to the arch with Holly & John on our way to the rally in Denver. I'll try to get it and Holly may remember.

I'm pretty sure it was Casino Queen RV Park - Good Sam. Others may have better, but enjoy your trip - we'll see you in OR (assuming my Unit is ready by then)..

Sorry for delayed response, we ran off to camp and had weak signal so I boycotted electronics. John used our cell signal booster for his stuff but I went for the hammock instead.

The RV park we stayed at is right across the Mississippi River and a tad down from the arch. It's easy to get to from the highway and mere minutes from the Arch. It doesn't get fabulous reviews but was well kept with friendly staff and had a good BBQ Restaurant on site. If I remember correctly there was some road noise and maybe trains but  you aren't going to find silence in an urban RV park. You do get to wondering on the drive to camp as you pass old industrial buildings but the camp itself was fine. It was http://www.cahokiarvparque.com/

Will we be seeing you at Sisters Reunion?

If this question is for me, the probable answer is no. We are still stuck here in Maryland... way longer than we thought we would be. My name is on the list for purchasing bingo prizes for the Reunion but I'll have to purchase and send them out there. I already have a "wish list" on Amazon of potential prizes so I'm ready as far as that goes. I really want to be there and keep nudging John and suggesting we fly out and rent a cabin or something so we can see people but it's really unlikely. Our granddaughter will be back in school by then and we pick her up every day so we usually can't get away during the week during the school year.

We love western Oregon and Washington State so this was the perfect place for us but unless there's a huge, unexpected change in the next two months, we'll still be sitting here.
