Remodel/Update interior
« on: April 03, 2017, 11:03:21 am »
We have a (new to us) 2007 PC 2100, we got it with only 13500 miles!  It's in great shape, but the cabin upholstery isn't as soft/comfortable as the newer models.  We've been exploring ways to upgrade the dinette and sofa to the memory foam with the newer softer fabric.  Just wondering if anyone else has done anything similar and if you have any suggestions?  I've been talking to Kermit and have the contact info for the supplier from this forum.  Anybody gone through this with suggestions to make this an easier process?

Our PC with dinette is a 2007 model year, as old as yours.  Like you say, the standard foam dinette cloth cushions of that era are not comfortable.  At 180 pounds, I bottomed out on the base cushion and they were hard to shift our weight, and hard to get in and out from.  About 5 years ago we got the memory foam vinyl (leatherette) cushions from Phoenix and they were (and still are) a monumental improvement.  The memory foam is more dense and being a bit thinner made for a little more spacial comfort.  If only we ordered our PC with those cushions to start with.  I highly recommend what we got the second time around, memory foam vinyl covered for we've tripled the time we sit at the dinette before needing to get up.

We don't have a sofa in our 2007 2350 no-slide dinette so I can't provide any input on that one except that I have heard from others that the earlier day jackknife also had it's "comfort" issues.

We have not updated the upholstery in the PC, but did redo the dinette in our 1975 GMC motor home.  I went to a local non-chain (i.e., not Jo ann's) that specializes in upholstery and bought dense foam for the dinette. It was a special order, but worth every penny.  I took the old seat covers apart and used them for a pattern for the new seat covers.  It helps that I like to sew.  The results were great. We have several foam densities to make our selection.
