Having once had (very short time) a Monica Covina (Sprinter based) I never even considered for a moment towing my Jeep Liberty CRD, 4500 lbs.  While that 3.0L is a work horse the Sprinter chassis IMO is close to it max. when fully loaded.  I would never pull a toad weighing over 2800 lbs behind a Sprinter, just not safe.
I agree with you.  I don't endorse towing a Wrangler with a PC-Sprinter.  Actually I don't endorse a PC-Sprinter towing any vehicle for it seems over the edge.  An exception might be a Smart car or other similarly weighted vehicle.

Just sharing with you all what that PC-Sprinter owner shared with me.

I would agree 150% Ron D.  Strong, light weight chassis with a world class engine that used correctly is a good combo but do not ask it to do more than it is capable of doing safely....Ron G.
