macerator pump is jammed on my 2008, 2900 PC

Guys,

I successfully dumped gray/black and it worked just fine. After adding additional water to commode to give unit a post-trip scrub the pump ran and expelled some water and then froze. I used the "screw driver" trick to turn impeller screw and it does turn but is a bit tight. I turned on pump several times but she won't budge BUT the screw does move a hair so electrically the unit works. I removed the 2" (thereabouts) hose that serves as the dumping hose from the pump housing. I can look inside the pump with a flashlight but see nothing.

Can I try shooting WD40 or some other lubricant into the pump hole and see if that  allows the impeller to loosed up a bit? I believe I accidently threw some dental floss in the commode last nite and it has wound itself around the blades or shaft. Yeah I know, not smart!!

Thoughts?????

Can you rotate it 360o with the screw driver. Do it in both directions and try again.

I DID get the pump to work for approx. 30 secs. I shut it off, closed grey valve, opened black valve and turned pump back on and it did not run. I CAN rotate impeller clockwise but it won't move counter clockwise without a great deal of effort. I don't want to strip the screw.

When turning screw manually with screw driver I can expel water from the pump.

Perhaps I should pull off the front pump cover and see if I can get at the inside. When it ran for approx. 30 secs it ran very well. No hesitation at all.

You have something stuck in the blades if it doesn't turn freely. Actually it is very easy to remove the pump. I think the small hose has a clamp and slips off and the electrical unplugs. Remove the screw from the bottom bracket and rotate the pump off just like you rotate the 4" cap off. You can then look inside to see if you can rotate back & forth until you can get the item out.

Just finished repairing mine.It is fairly easy and the parts such as gaskets and rubber impeller are available from Thetford.You will need at least the gaskets if you take it apart. :)(: :)(:
