General Discussion / Re: Need New Twin Mattresses
« Last post by TheLuvShack on September 15, 2024, 11:51:52 am »I have a 2012 model 3100. I got my replacement mattresses from the PC factory in May 2024. I'm very pleased with the quality of the mattresses. They are firm and about 9-10" thick pillowtop. Priced at $350-$400 as I remember. Call or email Keith or Dave Ponser for actual price and availability.

General Discussion / Need New Twin Mattresses
« Last post by Free2RV on September 15, 2024, 10:27:51 am »**NEED ADVICE**
We own a 2018 3100 PC.
We would like to order two new twin mattresses for our unit and are seeking suggestions from those of you who have replaced the mattresses on your twin beds. We prefer our beds to be firm and would like to order mattresses that are of good quality. We understand these will have to be custom made, but are willing to pay the price to get something that we'll be happy with for years to come.
Thank you.

General Discussion / Re: Vroom Install Question
« Last post by KEB on September 05, 2024, 02:09:19 pm »Gary,
Thanks for the reply. We are working with Tech RV in Maurice, La for the Vroom install. They are about 660 miles from us.
I contacted Keith at the factory and he had the numbers readily available for all three slides.

General Discussion / Re: Batteries
« Last post by custerhank on September 03, 2024, 07:19:08 pm » I just found out NAPA offers only one year warranty (replacement) on both flooded GC2 and AGM batteries.Wow - the last time I replaced either car or RV batteries they had a several year warranty. MY NAPA guy says prorated warranties are a thing of the past. He claims his 5 year old flooded batteries are going strong. I do see an Interstate Class 27 AGM with 3 year warranty. But aren't the PC batteries a Class 24? That Interstate Class 24 has a 2 year warranty. Besides the GC2-ECL-UTL (big and heavy), Interstate has an "EFB" (Enhanced Flooded Battery) which is smaller and lighter. Has anyone tried this?
Thanks!
Hank

General Discussion / Re: Onan 4000 Generator - Want To Replace - Alternative?
« Last post by Joseph on September 02, 2024, 11:04:55 am »I started carrying 2 of the Yamaha 2000 gensets. I went that route due to weight. Easier for me to handle two lighter weight units than one big heavy one. This was before I found my Onan issue and fixed it for good.
Two things happened at campgrounds. When under AC load they were quieter for us in the motorhome but not for other campers. No heavy load no issue, AC and other campers wanted it located right up against our RV. The next was when another camper had his stolen. They cut the steel cable, loaded it up and gone before he could get wake up enough to know he had a problem. I finally fixed my onan issue and got rid of the portable.
Your idea of installing where the onan is may work great. One of the things that makes them quiet is their casing. My concern would be them getting enough air flow in that compartment. If you remove the cover it will be louder. Maybe an auxiliary fan to maintain airflow. Also once mounted it will have its own vibration tendency.

On the irv2 forum, I have this same post running there. Someone there shared a new product, just posting it here for consolidation purposes. I really know nothing about it other than watching the short video.
https://npsrvpower.com/
Admittedly, the product confuses me. Generator and sine wave inverter, all in one? My traditional thinking is to have the generator focus on one thing, make household electricity, then let the RV on-board systems break it down from there.
The enclosed generator is a very tough environment with heat and vibration. All that "other" technology integrated inside it seems risky to me. Then there is the price tag, another discouragement.
