General Discussion / Re: Vroom Install Question
« on: January 06, 2025, 07:58:33 pm »
I got my 3 schwintek slide outs replaced with the Vroom system by Tech RV in November. I could not ask for better service and workmanship than provided by Dwayne and Kim at Tech RV.

The dimensions for the slide out components from Keith did not work out.  Tech RV ended up using the dimensions I gave them to order the parts from Vroom.

Tech RV installed the 3 Vroom systems, all new seals (including an additional wiper seal across the bottom of each slide) and added aluminum plates at each roller on the bottom of the slide boxes. They also replaced a rotted floor section due to a water leak at the sidewall joint on the passenger side transition section. They accomplished this work in 5 days, as scheduled, and left my coach cleaner than when I brought it to them.

They communicated very well up front (they actually called back when I had questions) and during the repair work. I was welcomed in the shop to watch them work They have a great team and will bend over backward to make you happy.

I obviously was impressed with their service.  If you need any rv work done, you should check out these guys. OBTW this isn't a paid endorsement  :).

Gary,
Thanks for the reply. We are working with Tech RV in Maurice, La for the Vroom install. They are about 660 miles from us.

I contacted Keith at the factory and he had the numbers readily available for all three slides.

Ron, thanks for the feedback.

I wonder if anyone else has any different experience.

General Discussion / Vroom Install Question
« on: August 16, 2024, 01:21:47 am »
I am looking to get the Vroom system installed on all 3 slides in my 2019 2910T. I am talking to the installer in Louisiana, Tech RV.  Dwyane at Tech RV is asking for a picture of a sticker on the schwintek slide h frame on the inside of the coach. It apparently provides them with the dimensions of the original schwintek slide mechanism and is needed for all installs.

I don't see this sticker on any of my slides. For those of you who have had the Vroom system installed, where did you find this sticker on your coach?

Regards, Kevin

Chuck,

We very much enjoyed the time spent with you and Sheila in Tennessee and Elkhart and will miss that opportunity in the future.

Good luck on your future adventures.

General Discussion / Re: Sanicon Hose Sleeve?
« on: July 05, 2023, 02:16:29 pm »
I sleeved my Sanicon hose when I first got my unit.  Seemed relatively inexpensive and I don't have to worry about dragging the hose on concrete/asphalt and wearing holes in the thin plastic. It's worked fine for over 2 years now.

This is what I used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016ZZU95Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have the TST 507 and my experience with it tracks almost exactly with Mike's feedback above.  I did install the provided extender.

I am on my 2nd TST unit in the 10 or so years I have been using it. My first unit was on a pusher for 8 years and I moved that unit to my 2910T for about a year.  I ended up replacing my original unit with another TST unit since they updated the base unit (color monitor) and the sensors (different batteries) during those 9 years. I replaced 2 sensors during the 9 years with the original unit.

I initially had a leakage problem with an extender on my pusher. Turned out to be a burr on the end of the extender. Otherwise I haven't had an issue with extenders. I did replace all of the extenders on my Phoenix with Dually Valve valve stems to eliminate leakage possibilities and make it much easier to add air.

Chuck,

Have you looked at this?  It may or may not work for you.

I carry one around with me to fix the inevitable failure of the original latch.

There was no desiccant bag in mine.  Maybe it had been apart before??

The desiccant bag would have been a good idea. Wish I had thought of that before it was sealed up and reinstalled.  :'( :'(

Hi Lance,

Any idea how much weight the Armor Flex adds to the coach.

As you know, I have to count every pound.

Hi Lance,

For some reason that rain we had at Mountain Glen RV park got in my camera. Check out the picture. It was dry before that.

Took it apart and let it set for several days inside in the house in the AC to dry out. Reassembled and put sealer around the outside gasket line and edge of glass. Hopefully it will stay sealed.

I ran across this guy several years ago at the Tampa RV show.  I don't know if he is still in business or not. He was selling his removal service as well as a DIY kit of the stripping solution he uses.
