General Discussion / Black Valve
« on: December 06, 2018, 09:26:07 pm »
A while back my blinking light on my black valve quit, it worked fine, I thought the light burned out. Today I dumped and the black valve didn't open properly, after working it several times it started working but it doesn't shut off when closed. The nut behind the handle was loose, I tightened it and it works a little better. I think it's out of time. I think I'll just take off the motor and run it manually. When I ordered my 2400 I said I didn't want the electric dump valves, I was told that's the only way they built them, I've since found out Phoenix will build with the manual valves. I can't see any advantage to having the electric valves.

General Discussion / slideout
« on: November 21, 2018, 09:39:53 pm »
How many owners have the ribbed under belly material on the underneath side of the slideout? it makes for a very jerky in and out motion. I hear they no longer use that material. I also hear it can be replaced with a smooth covering. Anyone else notice the rough operation caused by this?

General Discussion / Below Freezing
« on: October 11, 2018, 09:32:20 pm »
We travel with full water when night time temps are in the low teens. This will be our first winter in the PC. We have the 2400 with rear kitchen same as the 2100. We prefer an electric hook up below freezing but will boondock. If we have electric we don't run the furnace because of limited LP. We use electric heaters. If you leave the hot water heater on , that will keep pipes warm under the kitchen sink. There's no heat in the bathroom, keep the door open. I've rigged up 2 light bulbs under the sink to keep pipes warm. I took the head off the outside shower and pulled the hose inside and put a piece of foam insulation in that compartment. I also put insulation in the 4 way water door. The water lines that go around the shower next to the wall concern me. I'll leave compartment doors open and point a small heater into them. I'll use rv antifreeze in the toilet and leave the gray valve and manual valve open and let it drain on the ground. I don't trust tank heaters, it's the pipe leading from the tank to the  dump valve that freezes. I have the macerator heater but will run antifreeze through it to be safe. My last motorhome had plastic water lines, they could freeze without breaking
I don't think the solid water lines in the PC would be as forgiving. Let's hear how others survive freezing temps.

General Discussion / Lippert
« on: September 27, 2018, 06:01:05 am »
Does Lippert work on slide outs at there factory in Elkhart? My slide has not worked correctly since new. When I picked my 2400 up I argued for 15 minutes with the PC tech telling him it didn't work right. he insisted  it was ok. I'd like someone at the Lippert factory to look at it. Is that possible?

My slide out jerks when going in and out. The factory said they are all like that. It just doesn't seem right. Any opinions.

General Discussion / New Models
« on: August 12, 2018, 08:39:11 pm »
We've heard about new models from PC, some Transit chassis models, maybe some Chevy models with diesel, class c's. What would you like to see? What features and changes? I'd like larger fresh water and holding tanks.

They travel coast to coast and Alaska. They are strong willed and determined  to enjoy there lives. Patricia, I recommend you ask as many questions as needed on this forum. You will make friends on the road, RV rallies is a way to stay in touch with friends who have a common interest. Good luck.
