General Discussion / Re: FMCA
« on: November 19, 2019, 05:08:21 pm »
I'm a member. FMCA Roadside Assistance  is less expensive than other companies. I've never used it. Knock on wood! Just like any other product, some members love. it. Others have had problems. I have FMCA sponsored Verizon Hotspot at $50.00 a month with free hardware and have been very happy with it. What sold me on FMCA is their FMCAssist benefit that is included in your annual dues. Instead of me trying to explain it, see the attached link.  https://www.fmca.com/fmca-assist
Have a great day!

General Discussion / Re: Ultra leather

Looking at the poll it appears 2010, 2011 and 2012 were the worst years. I don't have any idea if any one color was worse than another. I have a 2012 model 3100 with the tan interior. All looked good until 2018 then suddenly it started flaking mostly on the driver and passenger seats. Later the couch started but not as bad. I live near the factory and was there having some maintenance done. I spoke with Carol and Doug about having the drivers seat, passenger seat, couch and dinette recovered. They recommended real leather on all seating surfaces and vinyl on sides and back to reduce cost. The cost was $2895.00. I liked the quality of the product they showed me and the color was great. I'm very pleased with how the finished product looks. I paid a little extra for new foam padding which is firmer and more comfortable in my opinion. We'll see how the new product wears. I'll post again after we use for a while.

Polls / Re: Snowbirds

We're in central Indiana. We saw the leaves change color and saw our first snowfall. It's time to head for Sarasota for 4 months beginning 12/15. Third year. Same spot. Love most of our snowbird friends. Would not want to relocate to Florida. Too hot in the summertime!

Your solution might be the best solution available but I'd still be concerned if the auto start fails. I use a free APP called Presence. It will turn an old cell phone into a video camera. The old phone does not need to be activated. You just need a connection to the internet. I set a thermometer on the counter with the old cell phone aimed at it. I can access the video from anywhere with another cell phone to check the temp in the coach. I check the temp in the coach every hour. If there is a problem we head back to the coach or call a neighbor to investigate.

I'm very happy with the 5 Star tune. So much better performance and shifting that even my co-pilot noticed it. I've noticed no difference in gas mileage. Join iRV2 forum and you get a $50 discount.

General Discussion / Re: slow draining shower
« on: September 24, 2019, 08:21:54 am »
I have a 2012 PC 3100 and my drain was also slow. It was just gunk buildup in the drain. This is an easy way to clean it out and will do no damage to the plumbing. Take the strainer off the drain. Run hot water into the drain. Poor a cup of baking soda into the drain followed by a cup of cider vinegar. Let stand for about 30 minutes. Flush with hot water. Repeat if needed. Worked for me.

I was at the Mothership today to get some minor repairs and maintenance performed on my 2012 3100. Doug, Dan and Carol took great care of me! Thanks to everyone! Keep up the great work!

We had a classic for many years. A 1971 Avion 28'. Loved that trailer. Beautiful birch wood interior and solid as a rock. Now that we're classic ourselves, we enjoy the convenience of just pushing a button to level, extend the slide and the awning. We have a 2012 model 3100 and have had zero problems with any of these conveniences. wouldn't be without any of them.

You can pull up all of Ron-N-Toni posts on this forum by doing a search. Might give you a look at previous enhancements or problems with the coach. Good luck!

Your thermostat may have a "fan setting" Hi, Low and Auto. If it does, set the fan to run continuously on low or high. The fan noise diminishes the compressor noise kicking on and off.

General Discussion / AC cyling on and off.
« on: July 29, 2019, 10:01:21 am »
Did a search and can't find the answer. I have a 3100 with one AC. AC is working and coach is cool. Outside temp is 73. Humidity is 85%. Thermostat is set at 72. Air filters are clean and unit is not freezing up. AC cycles on for less than 2 minutes then off for about 5 minutes. Is this normal under these conditions?
