General Discussion / Re: Sanicon Turbo 700
« on: November 06, 2022, 07:47:43 pm »
Hey Kevin, we were in the Smokies for the month of October. There were 5 nights in a row where the temps were 19 to 21 degrees. We have tank heaters that include the macerator & the heaters were on during this time. Maybe the pump froze? Lance says its a bad design, pump being in a sealed area, seals freeze then leak water to the pump. Once that happens, the pump will eventuality fail. Since we will be camping during January & February we will not be replacing the tank/pump. Chuck

Considering the cost of replacing the tank/pump motor, I think I'll just use the stinky/slinky. My labor is just my time but the parts prices are shocking. To close to Christmas!

Hank, The gen door on my 2552 just drops straight down, doesn't come out the opening. I always put a folded towel on the ground in case my senior fingers drop it. To replace the door just reverse the order. My 4000 watt Onan has no filter. That's a first for me! Makes changing oil easy. Hope this helps, Chuck :)

My Sanicon Turbo 700 has stopped working. When I turned on the pump there was a strange sound for a few seconds, then it stopped. Now there's nothing. The Thetford owner's manual clearly states "remove obstruction from impeller housing", that's the top. Well, there's about 5" of room to remove the top & get to the impeller housing. You can't see the top at all. Work would be done by feel only. The owner's manual also states "do not remove pump lower housing. Obstruction must be removed through impeller inlet. I don't see anyway to check for an obstruction without removing the total unit. What am I missing? Chuck :help  I called Lance for advice. He was able to share how to check for an obstruction. When the rain stops I will try & I will share his advice when done. Meantime, I'll take any advice. Thanks
++++UPDATE: With the help of Lance I was able to trace the problem, a dead pump motor. I first entered the pump box & was able to spin the blades. No clog. Then checked to see if the pump was getting electric, relays, circuit breakers & ground were all good. Bad news, like DONC13 stated, take it all apart & replace the pump motor.

I'm thinking you should check the hydraulic fluid. The tank is under your PC on the generator side (if in the same location as our 2020 2552) The level should be checked when there's no pressure on the hydraulics. When there's no pressure on the lines most of the fluid runs back into the tank. Jacks up, no pressure & most of the fluids in the tank. Hope this helps, Chuck :)

General Discussion / Re: slideout mechanism is blinking
« on: July 11, 2022, 08:18:24 pm »
My Lippert Schwintek slide controller does the same thing. When we first purchased our unit I called the factory, talked with a tech & was informed that that's the way its wired? The light only blinks when the slide is in. Our controller is in a cabinet & doesn't bother us. We also had Lippert Schwintek slide controllers in our Tiffin Class A, they didn't blink unless sending a code. Sounds like the slide is working properly. If you count the blinks, red & green, it is sending a error code #9 "Hall PWR SHORT TO GND". Again, the factory tech advised that there's nothing wrong with the controller. I'm interested in feed back from others that have Lippert Schwintek controllers. Chuck

Its been over a year since I removed the surface panels. The panels were all screwed down. The one thing that I remember is some of the screw heads were sunk into the wood & hard to find. Of course, your 2021 might be different from the 2020. Hope this helps, Chuck

Agree that Lance is the super hero. He pointed out features that we didn't know about. He also found a remote control system for our awning. Gald to meet everyone & learn so much. Love our PC  2o2

No problems with the LED lights. The long lights under the cabinets are touch lights. Touch the end for on & off. There are 5 (adjustable for angle) reading lights, 1 for each bed, 2 over the couch on each end with the touch light in the center & 1 over the single chair. There is no soft setting. The touch lights are bright. Hope this information is what you are looking for.  :)Chuck

Try Dave Ponsler at 1 574 350 2684. It has been about 8 months since I used this # to get Dave. I also ordered the under counter touch lights. Easy to replace. I just tried the PC phone #, the recording has changed but there is a directory that will get you to Dave. Hope this helps, Chuck :)
