General Discussion / Re: Liquid springs
« on: February 26, 2025, 04:32:40 pm »
A question for someone with liquid springs. How fast do your springs settle down when parked?  Mine seems to settle quite rapidly. Almost 1.75 inch in 24 hours. When parked for a while it would seem that I will have to relevel the rig quite often. Has anyone else noticed this?

My LS was installed at the factory. Their directions were to shut off the LS then level. Works great! Just don't forget to turn them back on.

Try setting your fan on "auto".

Amsoilman,
I was lucky to find a shop that would install and bend my valve extensions. Talking to the tech, he said there was a slight bend needed on the inside dully. You might have the extensions installed with out the hubcaps then bend them yourself. You also could make the ovals in the hubcaps larger with a saw. Just a thought.

I also installed the same extensions on my 2012 3100. Very satisfied! I added the TyMate TPMS and it works perfectly. No more crawling around on my knees every morning checking tire pressure with a guage. Just turn on the TyMate and wait 30 seconds and all six tires register pressure.

Re: Model and serial number.
Check the documents that came with your coach. Should be a list of all models and serial numbers for all components.

I have a 2012 model 3100. I got my replacement mattresses from the PC factory in May 2024. I'm very pleased with the quality of the mattresses. They are firm and about 9-10" thick pillowtop. Priced at $350-$400 as I remember. Call or email Keith or Dave Ponser for actual price and availability.

Email Wayne on the rear raise issue. I shut off LS before I leve; per the factory.

That is all interesting information.  To clarify, yes it is a shutdown condition.  The Onan panel is in place whenever it is run.  The code displayed inside is fault code 36.

I got it back from the dealer because we have our first outing this evening and we'll be running on shore power.  I tried to run it back at our storage unit with the access door open with the coach engine on.  It only ran for about 20 minutes before shutting down.  The service tech said that they were able to run it for about 1-1/2 hrs with the access door open...I didn't ask if the coach engine was on or not.

Ugh.  I can see this is going to be a frustrating one.  I'm not doing anything weird or unusual.  Prime fuel, then hit starter.  It cranks, starts, then let it run for a couple of minutes before putting a load on it.  The area I've been parked is just a fine gravel surface that is relatively flat.  The load is pretty much just the front AC.  No fridge, water heater.

Additional info...it did shutdown for the service tech with the access door closed.  He said he pulled the fuel line and ran it into a container.  He got bubbles from vaporized fuel (post shutdown).

I had the same problem on my 2012. Exactly as you described. It was the fuel pump. Changed it and no more problems. I'd take it to Cummins as it's still under warranty. Good luck and safe travels.

I had LS installed 05/22 at the factory in Lafayette, IN. Have about 2000 miles since install. I had our rig inspected at the factory last month. One nut needed to be torqued. If you're passing through Lafayette anyway, I'd stop at he factory. Inspection takes about one hour. No charge.

Does the device stay in the obd port?  If so can’t use scan gauge?

No. Plug it in. Install the software then remove. I've had FiveStar for 5 years. Money well spent!

General Discussion / I hit the trifecta of broken thingies on this trip!

 pyho  :-D
Hot water heater wouldn't fire on propane. Thank goodness it did work on electric.
City water ran strong for about 30 seconds then slowed to a trickle. Filled the water tank and used the pump.
On the last day of the trip the door latch failed and we couldn't open the door. Thank goodness it failed on the last day. Climbing over the driver and passenger seat is no fun.
Looks like I have a few repairs to make.
