General Discussion / Re: PC/USA Customer Service
« on: August 15, 2021, 04:56:27 pm »
I had my PC in for service in June/July. My 3100 had extensive damage to both sides due to an accident. Luckily no one was injured and our PC was still drivable. My service was performed in a timely manner and our PC looks like new. I was pleased with the follow-up while the repairs were done. Keith scheduled the repairs and communicated with me several times as the repairs were made. Doug met me in the parking lot when I pulled in and went over the repairs that were needed. PC allowed me to pick up my coach on a Saturday so we could get started on our summer trip. Tina was there on the Saturday we picked up our coach. Yes PC has recently had some employees leave. Tina said it was primarily due to age and normal attrition. She also mentioned how difficult it is to get parts right now.
Yes it is difficult to reach PC sometimes. From what I observed while I was at the factory PC is working hard to get through this difficult time.

I have a 2012 3100. How do you like the LS?  I'm considering have LS installed on my PC. LS is EXPENSIVE! Your opinion is appreciated.

Tried it. The RVillage site is aggressive with notifications and that's what turned me off so I turned them off. As a group I feel we do need a way to post regional gatherings. Until Covid this forum was working  to post gatherings and I feel it will work again. Just post the gathering here and see if there's any interest.
Travel safely everybody!

If you're not plugged into shore power check your house batteries. I believe you need 10.5 volts to fire water heater or fridge.

I think it's just a $10 per month charge to have Dish add local channels. Local channels show up on the Dish guide. I use DishForMYRV. As I move locations I just text Dish my new zip code, wait a few minutes and rescan. I active/pay for Dish only when I need it. Dish is fighting with NBC and ABC. On our last trip we could not get NBC on Dish.

The most important thing is a good attitude. All the little stuff can be bought along the way. You've covered extra fuses. A few things on our must have list are: white lithium grease to lubricate outside, silicone spray to lubricate inside, extra cabinet latches and the screwdriver needed to replace them, duct tape, oil for the rig.

On the human side make sure you have prescription meds plus basic OTC meds including something for allergies even if you don't think you have them. Also a first aid kit is a must and pain med (Aleve, Advil, etc.)

Ear plugs are nice just in case. Bug stuff, sun block, anti-itch cream. Umbrella or rain gear. Charging cords. A good chair, a good book, and the ability to adapt, relax and enjoy. Don't sweat the small stuff. There are stores almost everywhere and you need less than you think  Have an awesome trip!

Good attitude IS the most important thing to bring along. No question that PCs are well built and I've had remarkable success getting responses from the factory when I need it. Todays roads can be a bit rough and really shake the house. We've been on a circle Lake Michigan tour for the last 30 days. Toad braking system quit. (Not a PC part). Contacted MFG and had a replacement part in two days. Installed it myself. GCFI in bath tripped and wouldn't reset. Replaced it and still wouldn't reset. Bath, kitchen and outside receptacle are linked together and none worked. Called the factory and Doug called be back to trouble shoot. Thanks Doug! Outside receptacle had water in it from recent hard rain. Replaced receptacle and all is well. Yesterday some of the roads were so rough that a MGD shade fell off the wall. Hard to get to but a new screw fixed it. AHHH. The RV life! Things WILL happen just smile and move on.

I'm already a member and received an email today from WordPress. Password does not work. Look at this password. Is PCTC the damn Pentagon? What are they protecting? Why do we need such a contrived password (some idiots would call this a secure password). If it remains this difficult tp log in, I don't need to be a member.

Password: wAGd!LE0z)D!
