General Discussion / Re: Whatís it worth

A tougher market is coming. Interest rates are way up which affects potential buyers. Dealer lots are packed with new units now. At least thru California , NV, Utah and Idaho that I witnessed this past summer. Your up side is you have a rig from a well known quality manufacture.  Unlike a year ago thereís going to be fewer buyers and few willing to over pay. Thatís not all bad, those out there will be serious buyers.  I think if it was me Iíd be doing a lot of research, watching Craigslist etc and doing my best to get a feel for the market.

I donít think that itís people arenít interested.  If a person has to go to his shop to get it done it eliminates much of the country. If there was a way for him to know if say a certain number of years had no changes to the 350 or 450 he could offer a generic fit. That Iíd be interested in, driving 2500 miles to have one fitted isnít an option. Unless of course I was driving thru on a trip etc.

Will, I imagine that not every idea to mass produce etc works out financially on paper in the end.
Itís a Great design over anything else Iíve seen. If I lived near them it would be a done deal.

My Michelin lasted well mileage wise but I had issue with dude wall cracking even though I kept them covered.  Something Iíve seen mentioned by others as well. My recent Change I went with Yokohama on rear and cooper on front.  Iíve only run about 4,000 miles so I canít say on longevity but handling and ride has been fine.

Welllll I guess Iím old in a different definition (besides age). Iím at an age where I donít give a blip if What Iím doing or wearing isnít kewl. Iím at an age where young people donít see me, only thru me and Iím good with that as well. I like what I like and donít what I donít and it matters not if others see otherwise.

Oh and prefer Pomeranians over shih zu

Iím sure someone will grab it at the meet up. Itís a generous offer.

Sparroweye. Keep an eye on Craigslist.  These come up frequently for $50-100.  It would cost that or more to ship anyway.  Just be patient and youíll find one.

We just came back from a quick trip to Canada. Removing the thermal switch/fuse from the macerator (run dry protection) fixes the cut in and out issue with these pumps. Granted you have to be there when the tank is empty so it doesnít run dry too long but Iím not sure who walks away for any extended time when completing this task.

When I removed the thermal switch in mine I also sharpened all sides of the blades while I had it apart.  No idea if that had a + or - effect on anything.

Pump works perfect every time with no stopping and starting. I also took one of my old macerators removed for this problem and did the same and carry it as a back up but I no longer see the need.

I hope this helps anyone going thru this issue with a macerator that has run dry protection.

Cancer sucks.  Simply does

Ron, is it possibly done for weight savings or just cost savings?

Yesterday the inlet to fill my fresh water tank split. Itís basically a couple feet of pool vacuum type hose 1 1/4Ē ID. When I removed it I found where it connects to the outside fill the connection is a bit smaller so they wrapped thread tape over and over to add an additional 1/8Ē. It did the job I guess and being the tank side is an actual 1 1/4Ē OD they needed that size hose. Youíd think over the years the parts manufacturers would learn to communicate with each other?

Been there as well. Some times your the windshield sometimes your the bug. You were lucky with it being the end of the trip.

Yesterday I went to fill the water tank and after 15 gallons I see water coming out the tool storage area behind the battery box.  The hose that goes to the tank had split open. Pretty much nothing more than a 1 1/4Ē  pool vacuum hose.  As Rosanne Rosanna Danna says. ďIt just goes to show ya, itís always something!Ē

We head out tomorrow, our planned 10-12,000 mile 3 month trip has been whittled down to 3 weeks.

I get how trip plans change, for a variety of reasons. We had planned a 10-12 thousand mile trip this year. Then with the huge increase in fuel prices it seemed silly to take a trip that had so much recent redundancy do we cut the distance in half and planned a route we hadnít taken in some time. Planned on going back to see siblings all in their 70ís and 80ís.  One week before we were scheduled to head out I was diagnosed with cancer. Life tends to get in the way when you make plans. Now I have an open 4 week window before they can start treatments so weíre taking a quick 3 week getaway. Enjoy every mile, every moment of your trip.

Will.    Thanks thatís my concern.   The cat strap and other deterrents they will spend the extra time to get it.   When there in an enclosed yard they donít care if takes an extra 5 minutes. Itís still easy money to them.

This one looks like a better option.  My biggest concern might be cost.  Shipping can add an extra 100-130 easy.
