First off--Welcome to the Forum and Congrats on your PC's 

You know, I can't remember where we put our garbage can when we had a 2551 (or the 2350 for that matter). That's what happens when you age!!!I believe that it was a freestanding one like Ron's. We now have a 2910 and our garbage can is beside the door. We take the trash out at least once a day so nothing sits and smells.

I guess something is wrong with us 'cause we are heading to Arizona from Florida at the end of July--by way of Colrado Springs, Mesa Verde Nat'l Park, Arches NP, Canyonlands NP, Moab,Grand Canyon NP and arriving in Phoenix on Sept. 2. I am not looking forward to the heat but we are looking forward to visiting the daughter and grandson. Then down to Tucson, Karcher Caverns and home to Florida. Should be an interesting trip. Never been West in the PC.


I will be very interested in the details of your trip west and the weather. I wish we following behind you out there, that is on our list of trips but not sure when it will happen.

We tried to camp in St. Augustine and Ocala last week but between the heat, humidity, mosquitos, deer flies, and rain we pulled up stakes and headed back south. We can get that abuse (minue the deer flies) with leaving home  !!!

If we don't speak with you before .... Have a great safe trip, stay cool, and have fun !

ps .... we stored our garbarge can in our 2350 behind the drivers seat and our slide, perfect little spot and it was not really noticable.

It is a pleasent little beeping tune 

I have a 2012 2350 and mine does it as well. It just seems like a small tune from Germany and doesn't seem to relate to anything important in the vehicle. It does seem to be related to the chassis and not anything else.

Sue: No we do not have this type of radio. This one is even different from our last 2350's radio.

I can't tell where the sound is coming from, and no lights no anything indicating where it is coming from ... we are stumped too !!!!

     Do you have the sound 5 radio system in the Sprinter that is supplied by Mercedes?   If you do here is a possible reason for it and there seems to be away to change the beeps to 0.  Here is a link I found on line that might help.

If you check out page 14 in the sound 5 system manual you might try this and see if it eleminates the beeps.  It could be that your radio is powering off.

Or if you check the owners manual in this same link there are many warning sounds that the Sprinter has. 

Just a guess on my part but now you got me curious!

Vince is going with your answer ... having no definite answer 

Answer to all questions .... it is a series of three funny beepy noises and then it stops ... it only happens when you turn the engine off, it doesn't matter if you are sitting in the seat, standing .. makes do difference, it only beeps when you shut the engine off and no other time. If you turn the key on but do not start it, it does not make the noise. There is nothing lit up to indicate that anything is wrong or left on .... very puzzling.

We had the exact everything in this unit that we had in our 2012 accept for the beeping  . I looked in the manual and it has NOTHING about anything beeping or warning with a beep.

Guess we could call Kermit, but going straight to dealership might be the best as you recommended Ron, and hopefully we would not have to bring it in and they could possible be able to answer the question over the phone ... it would not be a part of the conversion so they should be able to help us ... I HOPE !

O.K. we have 2,537 miles on our 2350 Sprinter (2013) and I am just getting around to setting the clock and radio stations .... no need to rush  but here is the thing, since we have owned this unit we have this series of beep beep beep, beep beep beep when you shut the engine off. We DID NOT have that with our 2012 - 2350 sprinter and we have no idea what it is. Thought it might be leaving the keys in ... nope ... nothing lights up indicating anything ..... anyone else have that beeping after shutting the engine off ?

Can not find anything in the manual explaining a thing ... we are stumped.

The 2350 Sprinter is a great unit .... ACCEPT..... for the bed.  not only is it extremely uncomfortable, but you are boxed in by three walls and when I turn over during the night I am always banging my arm, elbow, & knees into the wall or banging into the window shade waking me up. When I look over at my poor husband if he were sucked up against the bathroom wall any tighter to stay out of my way ... well ..... if he sneezed he would end up in the shower !!!!!!

I have not had a good night sleep since we have owned ours.

 As far a covering .... we have a nieghbor that is a car dealer and also owned RV's for years.

When we looked at RV's that would not fit in our aircraft hanger (Door height restrictions) and mentioned to him that we thought about buying a cover to keep it outside ... he said ... you do not want to do that  because of heat build up and mold and mildew .. now we are in Florida and have humidity that you can cut with a knife most of the time.

I would think that being in AZ you do not have the humidity but wonder what the heat would do to something covered.

We had a glider that was outside in Florida and it had a tyvek cover over the canopy and we used that material becuase it was a breathable material and also would not harm the window but it only lasted about a year in the sun and heat.

Don't know if this was any help or not, but good luck and hope that your hubby will be well soon.

Wow ... I just checked your itinerary, that is one heck of a trip. We have signed up for our first ever  tour with Adventure Caravans  November 7th through the 13th "7 DAYS IN THE SMOKIES"  we are both very excited but chose this one as we wanted to start out with something small to be sure we would like it, although we have been told that they are wonderful.

We’re currently on a caravan trip with 20 other rigs: http://www.adventurecaravans.com/usa/avc_usa_itinerary.asp?TCC=41USSE20131102 (Day 29).  We don’t travel with a pet, but probably more than half on this caravan do.  Mostly dogs but a few with cats.  However, we have one single woman in a large Class A that is travelling with six dogs.  So that you won’t think that’s a typo, she’s travelling with six dogs.

I have a orange and white tabby ... she is 14 pounds of chunky love !!

If we take a lonnnng trip she needs to come with us, but Vince is dead set against it (I really don't want to take her either) I bought her a soft cloth dog harness (cat ones are to small  ).... she seems to only go in reverse when she has it on or just drops over on her back feeling she can't walk with her new iron suit on.  I  took her out to the rv .... she of course may be fat but she is ozzie fat so she proceeded to find every nook and crannie to try and squeeze into and hide .... not a good thing. Vince still says no but "we" are now talking about removing the euro chair we don't use and putting in a large soft nylon folding  dog crate to keep her in while on the road.

I can see that her joining us would be a problem, a continued escape try at each stop, although, if she has the harness on, she would slowly walk in reverse into the couch instead of running out the door and then fall over, purring super loud through the entire event (she is funny to watch)  !!

We can leave her home for three or so days and she is fine with extra food and water, but we would like to travel out west and be gone for a month or more and being as we are in hurricane country we would have to shutter the house down tight and I would never leave her and would not want to put her in a strange boarding facility.

Has anyone actually traveled with a cat and been sucessful ???

The leak is coming from where you put the fresh water in the RV.  The tank is filling up ok and registers full ... but when are driving and I guess turning  corners the water is coming back out the the "area" where we put the fresh water in, we think from the overflow.

We have not driven it since we refilled the tank and since Vince was able to get the overflow line blown out and what seemed like a clog cleared .... we will have to take her out soon and hang some corners to see if it is coming out again .... I feel bad for the poor cars that were next to us and got an unwanted bath when we went by !!

There is a check valve on the city water inlet (not sure if that's where water is leaking, or the fresh water inlet to the tank). It can stick open (mine did on the 2350 sprinter) and water will leak...

After I re-read this. Are you talking about actually unscrewing the board under the mattress ?

Wouldn't the shower be effected if something wasn't working right under there ?

We both used the shower and there was no problem.

I crawled under the coach this afternoon and I could not see anything leaking or wet looking.

I swore I heard dripping in the wall in the middle of the night but as I mentioned there was nothing wet outside on the ground and Vince just thought I was imagining the noise

My first thought is that the tank drain is open. if you have the pump turned on when travelling possibly the outside shower is open. Water will run out the overflow tube when the tank is full as the coach rocks.There are also drains for the shower that may be open. You might want to check under the bedboard to check the tank and the hoses.

OK we took a hose and blew through the mesh screen next to the fresh water fill. Vince said it had a little resistance at first and then it seemed like something broke free and it was cleared.

I also checked the outside shower and it is dry as a bone and closed up tight . I try to be sure everything is off while we are on the road including the water pump.

The large water spotted area down the side of the PC was where you put the fresh water in and that is where a concerned kid flaged us down to let us know we had a large amount of water pouring out when we turned the corner ... so it is coming from that area but we did not know why.

Thank You for all your suggestions and hopefully this will take care of it and it will be ok.

Just have to plan another ROAD TRIP to see if it worked

General Discussion / Water Leaking Out

We just took the 2350 out for the second time. Fresh water had been filled up on our last trip when we got home but when we arrived at the campground Wednesday and checked the tanks the fresh water was reading empty (????) even though we had filled her up before we left home ...so when we were leaving the park the next morning Vince filled up the fresh water tank to the 2/3 mark but  by the time we got home traveling only 156 miles when we pulled in the driveway we had only 1/3 of the fresh water left.

We had someone flag us down a month ago to let us know that water was pouring from our RV ...  we noticed water marks coming down from the where the fresh water goes in ... checked the area, the cap was on tight but you could see water had flowed out and it was wet.

We secured the cap tight and we can still see water marks coming down from the rv in that same spot where the fresh water goes in.

I swear I could hear water dripping in the middle of the night in the wall ... but ... there is no wet spot on the ground where anything could be dripping out ???????

Any suggestions .... we totally do not have a clue !!!!

Re: the new laminate flooring that came in our new 2013 2350 ... we have the slide and it does not scratch the flooring, nor the electric couch/bed that comes down, I think they made provisions for that. On the euro chair they put a felt like padding on the bottom of the chair so that it does not scratch the floor when sliding it out, which is nice but it also makes it so that even though when the chair is secured in the back for travel it still slides around when driving (nothing drastic).

If you have seen the new laminate flooring that they are putting in the new PC's it is a high quality flooring and looks really nice.

I was worried about tracking sand in and grinding it on the floor and scratching it. I have a long runner on the floor and a half circle door mat and a carpet on the inside step (I'm ready  ) but you can't not track stuff on the floor ... but so far so good and I stay on top of keeping the floor clean of fuzzies and sand and dirt.

We "had" a small creek in the floor when you stepped on it up towrads the cab area but it has stopped. We have some where around 1500 miles on the vehicle ...... This is what they are putting in some of the bigger rigs, wood, marble, and tile, and it seems like this is the new wave of flooring .... I would not think you would have a problem with the wood laminate .. I hope not anyway.

Our crack was in the back of the shower pan on the floor and it had not been secured underneath good and it was flexing so we didn't really have a choice. I was beside myself also at the thought of our new baby being disassembled, but we used "Indian River RV in Sebastian, Florida" and they went over everything with us and spoke to Kermit before hand. They did an excellent, execellent job and I went over it with a fine tooth comb when we picked her up and it was like factory new .... I was worried for nothing and now she is good as new and ready to roll.
