General Discussion / connecting computer to tv
« on: June 24, 2012, 08:45:01 pm »
Hi All:

My children have tv shows and movies stored on the laptop computer.  They want to watch the videos on the tv using the computer. Has anyone done this?  If so, what cable do you use?  I can see a trip to best buy is in my future.

Thanks.

General Discussion / silly commode question
« on: June 01, 2012, 06:56:17 pm »
Hi All:

Oh how to begin??  I have three males using our commode.  Naturally they stand when they feel the need to go.  My wife and I have found that in our new 2552 with the porcelain toilet that there is um how shall I say this "bounce spray off the toilet ."  The bounce  sprays on the mirror on the closet door and of course leaves residue.  Has anyone noticed this and if so how have you addressed this other than making the male gender sit when they go?    roflol

I know this may sound minor but we are leaving on a month long trip in the near future and my wife/me/kids do not feel like cleaning the doors all the time...Oh dear God???!!!*&^%$##

General Discussion / hwh leveling system question
« on: May 13, 2012, 07:47:28 pm »
Hi:

One more post.  Like I said, had the mh out this weekend for the first time.  Now I read how to use the hwh system and I did level the mh out alright but it seems to me it should be easier.  Can one of you tell me how you work yours just so I know I did it right?  Do you use boards underneath the jack?   We did not have the leveling system on the 2350, we used boards.  They seemed easier...lol...

Thanks.

General Discussion / furnace question
« on: May 13, 2012, 05:33:10 pm »
Hello all:

Finally had the chance to take our 2552 out for the first time.  Purchased last Oct and did not get a chance to camp in it.  Anyway, the Dometic control for the furnace/ac system is different than our old 2350.  I wanted to run the heat on Friday night and pressed the on button till the green light was at the furnace marking.  Immediately the blower on the roof mounted ac unit came on and the furnace on the floor never started.  Because I wanted heat I later turned on the heat strip on the roof mounted ac and had heat that way.  My question is, " how do you turn on the furnace?"

General Discussion / Keep the sani-con?
« on: September 11, 2011, 08:27:48 pm »
If you were to get a new Cruiser would you keep the sani-con system or go back to the old way.  I agree the sani-con is cleaner but boy is it sure time consuming...

well Hurricane Irene went through today like a woman scorned...  I have a Phoenix Cruiser with a full tank of potable water, 55 gals of gas, satellite tv and operational bathroom facilities.  My neighbors....not so much.... I may even have to put the Phoenix in operation tomorrow as a substitute insurance office to take insurance claims because as of now our insurance office has no power ..... I dare say we are the most prepared insurance office in town. Drive my phoenix to the office, turn on generator and turn on mobile devices and serve our clients. Yes!!!!  People really complain about insurance, but the first call or stop they make after something like this is the insurance guy. My home phone has been ringing all day...

Count your blessings all, a sore knee or sick parents or a tough day at work is nothing compared to people whose lives have been up-
rooted due to hurricanes and or flooding...The devestation in thier voice is unreal....

General Discussion / rear door struts/shocks
« on: June 21, 2011, 09:06:15 pm »
Has anyone had problems with the shocks on the rear compartment door ?  Both of mine pop off when I am closing or opening the door. There are little metal slides on the top and bottom of the shocks that I think are supposed to lock them. I think I may have a bad set of shocks. Any help here?

Polls / camping chairs
« on: June 04, 2011, 10:09:27 pm »
I was sitting here wondering what kind of outside camping chairs we use and where do we store them when going down the road?

1.) zero gravity chair
2.) Director's chair
3.) Sling chair (cheapo's fro Wally World)
4.) Folding chairs.

Any other I have missed?

Hello Happy Campers:

I have been running my ac this weekend and I seem to think that the compressor in the unit is rather loud when it runs.  Am I  dreaming this or is this standard with the ac heat pump?

General Discussion / automatic awning questions
« on: May 29, 2011, 02:42:30 pm »
Happy Memorial weekend all!

On our 2350 we have the dometic electric awning. I am wondering if there is any way to position the awning any other way than full out?  For example, on my old unit I was able to tilt the awning to one side to help the rain water run off.  I was also able to lower the awning as the sun moved.  I think there is no way I can do either of these movements.  Am I correct?  Any thoughts on this?

Around the Campfire / Camper Potatoes
« on: April 30, 2011, 10:52:46 pm »
Here is another on of our favorites.  Been around for a while.

4 potatoes cut into slices with skin on
1 sweet potatoe cut into slices with skin on.
1/2 stick butter
paprika to taste
garlic powder to taste
1 teaspoon season salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 medium onion cut into thin slices
1/2 teaspoon caraway seed
1 cup colbey/montery jack cheese mix

Spread out one good size sheet of tinfoil.  Place cut potatoes on sheet in layers.  Place sliced onion on top. Sprinkle paprika, season salt, caraway seed, pepper and garlic power over potatoes. Cut  butter into pieces and place liberally around the potatoes. Fold tin foil into rectangle sealing tightly.  Take a second piece of foil and cover again tightly.  Cook on low on grill for 30 to 45 minutes depending on the thickness of your cut of potatoes.  When potatoes are cooked through remove from grill open foil and sprinkle cheese on top.  Lightly close foil to let steam from potatoes melt cheese.   After 5 minutes dig in and enjoy.  When we are camping and are eating outside we spoon right from the foil.  My children think the best part are the potatoes that have been almost fried that are stuck to the foil. Yum!
