General Discussion / Refrigerator Vent Fans
« on: July 14, 2021, 01:18:11 pm »
Has anyone installed the Titan Double Rack refrigerator vent fan?    Amazon link (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F2K5GCW?tag=sa-sym-new-20&linkCode=osi&th=1&psc=1&doi=2018-12-4&cmpgn=vela&o=ds&p2=%5EEQ%5Evela%5E)  Titan makes a water - resistant double fan that goes on the roof vent and this one which attaches to the vent to the outside bring air in.

If you have installed the Titan fan have you found it providing a better more efficient cooling to the refrigerator?

Did you install both an intake and exhaust Titan fan?  Did you connect the dc current that goes into the circuit board for the refrigerator?  There are two wires one orange and the other white.  I am assuming the white is the negative (ground) and the orange positive?

thanks

General Discussion / valve extenders
« on: March 11, 2021, 10:19:46 am »
It's been several years since there was a discussion on the forum about what type of valve extenders to use on the back inner tires/wheels.   I am in the process of new tires and would appreciate input if I should keep my flexible braided extenders or consider solid steel extenders for the inside back tire.

thanks

General Discussion / Security Camera
« on: February 13, 2021, 04:10:29 pm »
What type of inside camera security system to you use/or are considering for your rig?   If you have pets how does this work with your security system.   With several major trips planned for this year we would like to consider some type of system before we hit the road.

thanks

General Discussion / Victron 712 settings
« on: October 03, 2020, 09:45:23 am »
Does anyone know what the settings should be for my newly installed Victron 712 BMS?    I have  2 - 12 volt AGM Windynation BattaMax 12-100 batteries.  I did contact Windynation but they were of no help on the settings.

Battery Capacity - I know this setting should be 200 Ah

Charged Voltage _ ??? is this the float charge?  For my AGM batteries the bulk is 14.4, the absorption is 14.1-14.7 and the float is 13.5.

Tail Current - ??? do I just use the Victron default setting?

Charged detection time - do I just use the Victron default setting?

Peukert exponent - do I just use the Victron default setting?

Charge Efficiency Factor - do I just use the Victron default setting?

Current threshold - do I just use the Victron default setting?

Time to go averaging period - do I just use the Victron default setting?

All the settings above where I mention "do I just use the Victron Default"  I can not find anywhere on the manual for the Windynation batteries and when I contacted Windynations they said they were all settings Victron is to provide.

General Discussion / Battery Monitoring System
« on: September 15, 2020, 10:14:08 am »
After our recent trip of boondocking I realize the importance of having a battery monitoring system.   What system to you use and why did you choose your system over others.

General Discussion / HWH Levelers
« on: September 13, 2020, 09:13:13 am »
Recently after engaging the HWH levelers I started having an issue of two of the levelers retracting on its own.  We first noticed this throughout the night when we heard a sound coming from the levelers and then noticed slowly the levelers were retracting on their own.  They don't go fully retract only partial but they are no longer securing the rig to the ground.  Has anyone else had this issue?  And why is it occurring?  And how do you fix the problem.    When one engages the levelers in a down position they should only retract when you push the bottom to retract them.

General Discussion / Parallax Power System
« on: June 30, 2020, 08:02:24 pm »
My PC has the Parallax Power Supply 5300 series installed on my 2017 -2910D.   It appears to be functioning; charging the house batteries and running both the AC and
DC circuits.  Recently I have noticed that the cooling fan has not been coming on intermittently.   My rig is parked in my RV garage on 50 amp shore power.

Questions:

How warm will the converter get before the cooling fan goes on?   It's warm in Nevada even in the RV garage it's 95+ degrees.  There is no direct sun light on my rig.

How can you test  the cooling fan to ensure it is working appropriately?

Is there a fuse for the cooling fan?   The converter has two 30 am DC fuses separate from the DC panel.

Should there be a low hum sound from the converter?

General Discussion / Solar Controller Problem
« on: June 20, 2020, 08:13:14 am »
I have the MidNite Kidd Solar controller that has become "frozen".  The only reading I see on the screen is "0 KWhr, KID, and 0 Ahr".  I called the company who said this can occur (but uncommon) if the rig is stored inside with no exposure to the sun for a period of time.  To fix the problem they suggested, since there is no on/off switch, to switch the DC 30 amp breaker.   This would then un-freeze the unit to become operational again.

But where is this 30 amp fuse?  Are the two fuses on the right one of those fuses?   If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

thanks

General Discussion / Surge Protector Humming??
« on: January 30, 2020, 01:23:22 pm »
We noticed, after we returned home from our last RV trip and plugged into our home shore power (we have a 50 amp plug), a humming sound coming from behind the panel that houses the Surge Protector indicator, inverter, generator, and tank indicator.   The inverter is off so I don't believe the humming sound is from that.  If I unplug from the power the humming sound goes away.   I suspect it is the Progressive Power Surge making the sound.  There are no error codes on the Progressive indicator panel and everything seems to be functioning.  While not a loud humming sound it is annoying.   How does one access the back of the wall to determine where the humming sound is coming from?  Any thoughts would be helpful.
