General Discussion / Atwood LPCO Alarm-Design Life
« on: July 11, 2019, 10:09:28 am »
I just discovered a product end-of-life design and thought I would clue you in.

The Atwood alarm for LP gas and CO has a 7 year life.

Exactly at 7 years both LP & CO alarms will not stop alarming. I got out the manual and found out  you need to buy a new one.

Carol at PC sells these for $50, I have seen prices as high as $130 for the same one on-line.
So for 2012, 2013 PC RV's they will ALL be failing.

Simple installation but now you no when you need to buy a new LPCO alarm.

This server could not prove that it is www.phoenixusarv.com; its security certificate expired yesterday. This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your connection.

General Discussion / Xantrex 1800 Inverter E05 error
« on: November 08, 2018, 06:30:48 pm »
Have not used our RV for 6 months. Now on the road to FL. Stopped for the night and turned on the Xantrex Inverter to get some 120v power. Nothing is turned on, no loads.
After a few seconds I get E05 overload error.
Has anyone experienced this? Solved it?
It would lead me to believe there is a short on the output of inverter. The battery voltage reads fine then I just get the error signal. pyho

General Discussion / Toilet flush sticks on
« on: March 19, 2018, 08:53:39 am »
The Thetford Toilet with side foot pedal flush on my 2012 2552 started sticking near the end of our 4 month long winter trip.  :'(
The water keeps flowing until the pedal popped up and then even with the pedal up it kept flowing for another minute,

I can't see where or how to lubricate anything or even disassemble anything to fix it.

Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions.  (nod)  tymote

General Discussion / 3 PC's at WP Franklin in FL
« on: January 12, 2018, 06:57:10 pm »
We pulled in yesterday at the Corps of Engineers campground at a lock on the Caloosahatchee River near Ft Myers ,FL.
Today Barry and Sue arrived in their 2551  and  Fred & Joan (fandj) pulled in with their 2552.

It's a first for me to camp with two other active PC members at such a small campground.

Almost like a  FL reunion.

Do not click the link.  pyho

Hopefully someone will tell her so she can get her account back.

General Discussion / What's the trick - WP Franklin
« on: July 27, 2015, 10:10:16 am »
I've tried everyday at 10 am to reserve an available site in the January time period
The sites show as available at 10:00:00 but by 10:00:01 the sites are gone.

How do you guys ever get a camp site there.

I know a bunch of PC Cruiser members stay there. What is your trick?

General Discussion / A/C Fan runs when furnace is turned on
« on: November 03, 2013, 09:25:30 pm »
I'm not sure what my wife did but now when I hit thermostat 3 times to run the furnace, the roof air fan runs. The furnace does come on and responds to the thermostat setting but the only way to turn the roof fan off is to turn the thermostat off or turn off circuit breaker #4 (Roof A/C).
It must be a control system failure of some sort, any ideas of what to check further or how to go back to normal?

General Discussion / Cabinet Latches Failing
« on: January 28, 2013, 09:36:53 am »
We have a fairly new 2012 - 2552 model.
It has at least 29 cabinet latches.
They are starting to fail, several stick and don't open, on several the plastic moveable part cracked and fell out.
On the backside of these grabber catches they are marrked, brdsupply.com.

Is anyone else experiencing the problem. I found a mention on a website that said Southco Latches were very good but there are Chinese knockoffs that fail. Is that what is happeneing?

I'm in Mexico for another 6 weeks, so it is not easy to get replacements. And if I just get the same knockoffs what good would that be.  :beg

In my old 2551 there was an on-off switch to allow you to jumper the coach batteries to the vehicle battery.
On my new 2552 there is a switch that operates a relay. I can hear it click.
Not sure how this works. Does the relay stay closed until key is turned on?
How do you know if the relay is closed or not?
I don't see any change in vehicle battery voltage when I hit the switch.

General Discussion / Boss DVD hookup? - No color
« on: May 16, 2012, 05:43:38 pm »
Just picked up my new 2552 yesterday

I have a rear L4200U series Toshiba - Setup & works great

Stuart gave me a Boss BV2550UA DVD player for me to install & hookup myself.

Their manual is terrible and doesn't show same the rear connections as the on-line manual.
But basically there are 4 plugs labeled:
1 AV out
2. Earphone
3 Coaxial
4 remote sensor.

I hooked the R,W,Y cable from #1 to TV
I set the TV to colorstream, only logical chaoice.
I get the DVD player but it is in black/white, no color.

I tried all the setuo choices - no change
It plays a DVD but it is not in color, sound OK.

Is the player bad?
Is there anything to be hooked to #3 Coaxial?

General Discussion / Remote door entry - F450
« on: April 23, 2012, 10:39:29 am »
I have been told that the F450 cutaway for motorhomes comes with the electronics to have a key fob remote.
The Ford manual tells how to program this remote if so equipped.

Key Fob remotes can be purchased for under $20 and then programed as per the Ford instruction manual.

So we are having a new 2552 built which will be ready in a few weeks, can anyone confirm that it is ready for a remote or if the 2012 remote is the same as the 2011 remote?  :help

Hopefully this vehicle does not have one of the new smart keys.  :)
