General Discussion / Banks PowerPack System V-10
« on: October 09, 2019, 01:50:16 pm »
:beg Looking for information and feed back on the Banks PowerPack System Including: Banks Stinger System & Optional Ottomind for Ford 6.8L V-10 Class C Motorhome.

Meet Dr. Dave at the Charleston rally who has this setup on his new to him, low mile 2017 2910D PC. The previous owner is a 90 year old former NASA engineer.

In his own words, Dr. Dave says " Ideal conditions: Highway speed 62mph, flat and decent highway/interstate roads, no significant against the wind...Towing 11mpg / Not Towing 13 - 14mpg.

A July 21 2017 article in Motor Home magazine talks about an increase of 55.6hp, 69.5lb-ft torque, and 0.5 mpg but doesn't mention what that was in. The test model for the article was a 2017 Tiffin Allegro.

Anyone else have this set up on their PC rig? Pros and Cons (other than $$$) would be much appreciated.

General Discussion / 2019 Rally
« on: September 04, 2019, 06:40:19 am »
I know it's a little early to be asking....... (exactly)

Is there a backup and refund plan for the rally if the hurricane wrecks things? pyho

We were going to spend a week in the Myrtle Beach area before the rally, so it looks like we will be needing to come up with a plan B. :'(

Here's hoping it stays far off the coast. :beg

1) Has anyone taken a RV to the festival?

2) Would you take your PC?

3) How was it and would you go again?

Curious minds want to know!  :beg

Adventure Anywhere / Duluth rally then points west.
« on: August 19, 2018, 04:51:22 pm »
Karen and I are leaving Cincinnati after Labor Day for the rally in Duluth. Afterwards, heading west through North Dakota to possibly Glacier NP. Any recommendations as to places to visit/stay, routes to take or not to take with a toad? We have 3 weeks and plan to circle down through Yellowstone area and back through Black Hills, and Bad Lands.

Thanks for any suggestions.

General Discussion / Tow Dollies

Hi All,

Finally getting around to researching a tow dolly for the Midnight Rambler.

Which dolly to you use/like and why? The Acme line looks great and is USA made!

Your thoughts?

Hope everyone has been good this year and Santa is nice to you.

Merry Christmas to all, and

a Healthy and Prosperous New Year!

General Discussion / Total Eclipse in August
« on: March 31, 2017, 07:14:50 pm »
Hi all,

We are taking the Midnight Rambler to Hopkinsville, Ky. for the total eclipse on August 21. Anyone heading that way?

Hopkinsville is one of the best places in the country (2:40min totality) to witness the eclipse. We are staying in The Trail of Tears Park in Hopkinsville. The Casey Jones Distillery, just outside Hopkinsville, is opening up their grounds for campers/RVs.

We hope to get up to CJD and sample their line of fine tasting moonshine!  ;) Contact CJD and Hopkinsville Eclipse for more information.

Hope to see you there,

General Discussion / Grille bug screen & windshield sun screen
« on: March 31, 2017, 06:53:30 am »
Hi all,

Karen and I brought the Midnight Rambler (our 2552) home last week!  2o2

I was wondering if anyone has found a bug screen that fits over the grille without any scuffing, or better yet, a way to attach screening behind the grille to keep the bugs and road debris out of the AC condenser and radiator.

Also looking for and quality windshield sunscreen in black or gray. The type that Kyle offered were very nice but very expensive, and I was concerned about them walking away while out sightseeing.

Your thoughts and ideas are most welcome.

General Discussion / Water filtration for our PC
« on: December 12, 2016, 09:17:16 pm »
Got word today that our 2552 PC is IN THE HOUSE! (cheer)

We are new at this and are wondering what others use to protect their rigs from too much pressure (type regulator used) and filter on the city water hookup hose.

It seems to me you never know what you are going to run into out there. Also don't want to mess with bottled water; weight, plastic bottles, yuk, but not satisfied with the filter pitchers. There are counter top filters, under cabinet filters, and facet mounted filters like the Pur that can filter out over 60 contaminants and should make my morning coffee even better!

Tips and Tricks / Maxxair vs Fantastic vent fans
« on: November 27, 2016, 06:38:47 am »
Hi all,

We ordered a 2552 and would really appreciate input pros and cons on the Maxxair 6200 and the supplied Fantastic fans. I like the looks, design, and concept of the Maxxair.

As of now we ordered a rain cover ($95) for the kitchen Fantastic fan and sticking with the little vent fan in the bath which I have a feeling is pretty much useless in venting the hot steamy showers the wife enjoys so much. She really doesn't ask for much, and it's the small things in life, right?

Need to talk to Earl again, but at $330 for another Fantastic Fan plus $95 for rain cover, I would think the Maxxair could be installed for less than $425.

Like the fact that the Maxxair is reversible. Don't know about the standard Fantastic fan. What about warranties and issues with both.

Your thoughts.....
