General Discussion / Dometic AC unit dying
« on: September 16, 2024, 05:19:26 pm »
2351D with Dometic AC/Heat Pump.  When running the air, sounds like there is a bearing going out. Haven't tried the heat pump as the temp here is in the 90's. Does anyone know if this is a simple fix, factory service or what. Going to have to cut short  our trip in fear of it going out complettely. When I get home I'll call Keith at the motherrship to see if they repair on site or sent it out. Really don't want to drive up to Elkhart if I caan find a Dometic dealer near my home.

General Discussion / Awning tie downs

Do you use them. If so what type? stake, ground screw type, or weights?

Also do you use snap pads on your jacks? Seems to me that they'd get in the way when folded up.
Thanks

General Discussion / pop up poower tower by kitchen sink no power
« on: April 16, 2024, 03:57:48 pm »
Our 2351D power tower lost power last night. We generally leave our coffee pot plugged in. Last night sometime we lost power but it came back on. When I woke up I reset the clock on the microwave. No problem, but when I tried to turn on the coffeepot it would not work. Moved it to another outlet & all is good. The next day I bought a pack of 20 amp fuses. No help all good. Was told to check under the sink & see if the power pport was plugged into a GFI box. No dice.
HELP!!! I'm not an electrician & have no meters or such with us.

General Discussion / Another leveling question
« on: October 11, 2023, 02:25:12 pm »
First off a big thank you to all that put together this years reunion in Elkhart. It was great. Very informative.
Liquid Springs said that I could raise the rear of the coach from the normal position. If I do so and turn them off, will that height stay? What I was thinking is to raise the rear when on a downward rear sloped site. Turn the springs off, then employ the jacks to finish the leveling. Purpose is to keep as much of the rear tires on the ground as possible. Make sense? Sound feasible?
Your thoughts please.

General Discussion / Internal TPMS
« on: October 06, 2023, 09:39:00 am »
Been looking at TPMSs. Had the external screw on type that were nothing but a pain. Alarm was constantly going off. And the anti-theft caps made it impossible to remove to add air, especially with arthritic hands. So I'm in the market fir internal sensors.
The only brand I can find is TST, which was the brand of my screw on type & sort of left a bad taste in my mouth.
Any suggestions, ideas and/or opinions.

thanks

General Discussion / slide stops after only going out a foot
« on: September 30, 2023, 03:30:12 pm »
2351D. Our dinette slide goes out about a foot then stops. Retract it and get a running start and it makes it sometimes. Sometimes a slight push is needed to go all the way out. The coach is leveled first so there is no drag or binding. What could the cause be. Bad spot on the motor? Bummer gear? Easy fix or Hello Doug?
Thanks

General Discussion / Fridge issue
« on: June 17, 2023, 10:22:17 am »
Our fridge sometimes shuts off when we first plug in to shore power. It'll run on propane fine while we're driving. Pull into our campsite and all is fine. Plug in to shore power and it shuts off. Red light shows. Hold down the power button till all is off, and a moment later press the power button again & it come right on and all is good. It doesn't always do this. It has happened about 4 times this past season and I can find no pattern or reason.
Any ideas? Now we do keep an eye on it and it is not a major issue, but I don't want it to get worse.
Thoughts?

General Discussion / sEELevel tank monitoring system
« on: April 30, 2023, 03:16:51 pm »
`Was at the Mothership last week having some work done & while I was there had Doug install the SeeLevel Tank Monitoring System. No more 4 red dots to guess at the levels. These things are amazing. When Doug put them in we hare all 4 red dots lit on black tank. After instal it read 40%. We let the tank go until 90% then dumped. Checked the readout for grins. It read 0%.
I want to thank Tina, Doug, Keith & Reese for the fine, fast professional service. Hats off to a wonderful group!
Thanks all & see you in Sept.

General Discussion / Harvest Hosts
« on: March 06, 2023, 04:57:56 pm »
I'm confused, more than normal. I thought we were offered a discounted membership for Harvest Host, either thru Phoenix when we purchased or through the PC RV Travel Club. I can find nothing of either. Am I just delusional or wishful thinking?

General Discussion / Skylight shade
« on: January 30, 2023, 12:39:32 pm »
DW saw an ad for duo form thermo shield rv skylight shade. A bit on the pricey side, but if they work as advertised, might just be worth it. Anyone have any experience with them? Pros, cons and general knowledge is appreciated.

thanks

General Discussion / Water pressure regulator
« on: October 19, 2022, 10:12:41 am »
How many of you use a water pressure regulator when connected to city water? Are they really of value? I mean are they worthwhile? Necessary? Or are they basically a safety recaution?
If so what do you use and why?
Thanks

General Discussion / Liquid Spring maintenance
« on: October 10, 2022, 01:02:50 pm »
Do you have Liquid Springs on your Cruiser? If so, what's your maintenance schedule like? We have over 2 years on our coach & slightly over 15,000 miles. The manual says every 6 months or 25,000 miles. So where do we fall? Another section says to tighten bolts to 600lbs torque. (yeah right, I carry a torque wrench with me).
Thinking about making an appointment for a go over the system, just to be save, as we are heading to the mother ship and Lafayette would be on our way.
Any opinions, thoughts, concerns?

thanks

General Discussion / RV Water Hose
« on: October 07, 2022, 09:44:15 am »
Time to replace our old Camco white water supply hose. I have been looking at one of these Silver Bullet type of expandable hoses. Which one I don't know. I know it has to be drinking water safe. Anything else I should be concerned about.
Any one use another type of hose? Which one & why?

thanks

General Discussion / AGM batteries & solar battery tender
« on: September 11, 2022, 12:30:03 pm »
Thinking about switching over to AGM batteries & know nothing about what I should know & do. I tried to do online research but have a hard time distinguishing between a sales pitch & an honest review/opinion as I know nothing about the subject.
I did find that one important point is to keep the batteries charged while in storage. As I generally put it in storage from Nov to April. Cannot keep on our property due to our beloved HOA, so it is offsite with no electric available. Which brings me to a solar battery tender. These are effective??? Spending this kind of money on batteries, don't want them going south the first year. Since our coach is offsite can I use a solar tender discretely with no holes drilled, etc. I'd like to place the solar panel in the cab windshield & run the cables to the batteries. Does this even sound feasible?
And I guess solar battery tenders, like the batteries themselves, vary in price from one end of the spectrum to the other. And the higher the price isn't always the better.
Oh, where to start? Then there is always the consideration of total cost and what I can afford. But naturally I want the best for the least cost.
Any thoughts?
