General Discussion / Southco Compression Latch
« on: June 30, 2019, 12:55:31 pm »
I damaged the door to the battery compartment on our 2552.  :'( Note to self: don't rub Moho against a tree. The damage includes one of the latches, which as near as I can tell is a Southco Compression latch, possibly a medium size, part number 44-1-2-0. Is that correct? Has anyone purchased one of these and knows the part number? Phoenix is closed this week so I can't ask Carol.

General Discussion / Replace just one tire?
« on: December 17, 2018, 12:11:54 am »
We had a tread separate enough on one tire that it made the Moho shimmey. The tires are 5 years old and have 27,000 miles on them. I wonder, should we replace just the bad tire, both front tires (the bad one is on the front) or all six?

General Discussion / Re-mounting the TV
« on: July 20, 2018, 06:54:48 pm »
The TV in our 2014 2552 began to slip down off the wall, blocking the two cabinet doors at the front of the moho. The mounting screws had backed out a bit so we pulled them all out and tried to re-mount the TV. The TV is held in place by six screws that screw into two triangular (cross section) pieces of wood about 1 foot long which themselves are attached to the TV with staples ( (WH) ). Of course, if we remount the same way I'll mount these pieces to the TV with screws, but is there a better way? The wood pieces are splitting where the screws penetrate, so I'll replace them with hardwood. Has anyone come up with a better way to mount the TV, i.e. not using wood?

General Discussion / Another damn water leak
« on: January 17, 2018, 04:40:00 pm »
We have a leak that soaks the head liner at the top of the windshield above the passenger's knees. I have had all the stuff on the roof resealed; including the lights, Sirius antenna, TV antenna, etc. I had an Auto Glass place test the windshield itself, which I guess tests the seal between the Ford and the coach body since that seam is just above the windshield. No leak there. There is no leak when parked in the rain, but if we drive in the rain, the head liner gets wet. Has anyone had this problem? Any advice for how to find this leak?

Does anyone know the manufacturer of the Euro chair? I need to order a new part.

General Discussion / 2552 slide seal jamming
« on: June 08, 2017, 08:57:43 pm »
Has anyone had this problem? A rubber seal (I think it's a seal) has come loose and is jamming the slide at about the half-way point when moving the slide out. Here is a picture.

I sent this picture to Kermit and asked his opinion, but haven't heard anything back.

General Discussion / Borg DuallyValve valve stems
« on: June 06, 2017, 01:22:49 pm »
I replaced the valve stems and extensions on our 2552 with Borg Duallyvalve stems because I had damaged one of the original extension mounts. I drove a little too close to the edge of the road in Yosemite and something pulled the L-bracket that holds the end of the extension off of its rivets. I ordered a set of Duallyvalves from http://www.yourtireshopsupply.com, which is Borg's web site, for $120. I had my local tire shop install the stems. Below is a picture of the stems installed on the wheel (I hope).

The tire guy had a lot of trouble getting the wheels off the axel; they were rusted on. He had to use what he called "Love". I think that involved a hammer.

These stems work much better than the old extensions with my pressure gauge/filler.

Borg also sells stems for the front wheels, if you're interested.

General Discussion / Anderson Brass Kantleak repair
« on: April 20, 2017, 08:01:02 pm »
After watching the Anderson Brass video on how to repair the 4-way valve a few weeks ago, I decided to pull ours apart to see why it is so hard to rotate. So I pull the guts of the valve out and one o-ring is missing! We don't have a leak so I think the o-ring must have fallen out while I was removing the part (what is that part called?), but I can't find an o-ring on the driveway. So I call Anderson Brass, 2 minutes after they close for the day.  >( So I go online to see their website, but I get a Microsoft server at go.microsoft.com instead.  :beg

Does anyone who has taken the valve apart remember if it normally is missing one o-ring?

General Discussion / Blu Ray firmware update
« on: June 10, 2016, 06:59:32 pm »
Has anyone tried to update the firmware on their Samsung Blu Ray home theater? I tried, using the instructions in the manual (and online) for the USB method. It doesn't work; the home theater says "No update file found." meaning on the USB drive. Samsung sent me a USB drive with the file loaded, but I got the same message. Samsung customer support is otherwise pretty useless. Has anyone had the this problem and solved it? Alternatively, what's the best way to get the attention of Samsung 2nd level tech support?

General Discussion / Lighted grab bar by the door
« on: September 02, 2015, 06:51:54 pm »
Our lighted grab bar isn't. Lighted, that is. The bulb is fine and a new bulb also doesn't light. My VOM says there is no voltage with the porch light on (I assume the bar lights with the porch light). Any ideas where I should look?

Thanks.

General Discussion / Need new shocks (Bilstein thread)
« on: August 16, 2015, 12:45:33 am »
We have 14,000 miles on our 2014 2552 now and the shocks are getting soft so we're thinking of Bilsteins. Has anyone installed Bilstein shocks on their E450 and which level did you choose, Comfort or Heavy Duty? How did your choice work out?

Thanks in advance.

General Discussion / Water pump flexible hose on 2552
« on: April 11, 2015, 07:57:42 pm »
Has anyone installed flexible hose on the 2552 water pump? There is no room, really, to attach hoses to our pump and no place to move the pump to, at least in my humble opinion. Does anyone have a photo of such a modification? Who did the work; you, an RV repair place, or a real plumber?

Thanks in advance.

General Discussion / Adding stuff to our 2552
« on: March 15, 2015, 07:07:15 pm »
Inspired by user Pax (thanks, Mike) we added shelves to the short closets at the foot of each bed.

We also mounted two Fisher Automotive cupholders

These automatically adapt to mug size, but a low mounted handle interferes.

Here's the other one.

General Discussion / Rotate passenger seat on 2552
« on: March 07, 2015, 12:33:50 pm »
We tried to rotate the passenger seat but it hangs up on the B-pillar. We moved the seat all the way back, pulled the rotate lever, and rotated clockwise but the seat hits the side of the cockpit just aft of the passenger door. The seat won't rotate anti-clockwise. What are we doing wrong?

Thanks.
