The reunion was held in Kerrville, Texas, September 6-11, and we got home September 12th. We've been meaning to send a post since we got back but haven't had the time. We had a great time and met lots of great Cruiser owners. The worst thing about the event was the 104° temperature the first couple of days but then it cooled off and was pleasant. The reunion will be held next year on September 5th - 10th in Petoskey, Michigan. Great location to combine a trip to Elkhart with the reunion. We recommend it highly.
While there we had a bad, bad news event but then very good news. About the second day we decided to dump using the Sani-Con. As soon as we turned the pump on, black water began pouring out! We turned off the pump as fast as possible but had a mess.
We couldn't determine what was happening and didn't know how we could find out. We hadn't taken a 3" hose (cleverly thinking we wouldn't need one). We went to the office to see if they had a hose and connectors. They had a hose but no connectors. The manager called the maintenance man who spent quite a while, and a few trips back to his rig, trying to help us out.
Then the good news! One of our Cruiser neighbors came by and mentioned that Kermit was just across the road working on another Cruiser. We didn't realize he was over there. We knew he was at the reunion but assumed he was just there for PR work. We found out his joining the reunions are definitely working trips for him. He spent all day (and maybe more) working on various problems people had. Paul went over to ask if he could help us. It turned out our neighbor had the same problem we did, broken bayonets that attach the pump to the rest of the system. When he finished hers he came over, crawled under our rig and proceeded to remove the pump. He told us to call the office when we got home and they would send a new pump part. He showed Paul how to install the new one. We still can't believe our good luck. Of all the places to find out our Sani-Con was leaking what better place than just across the road from Kermit!
We called the office when we returned and Carol sent a new part. Paul installed it and so far it works like a charm. Hurray! Other than the pump problem everything else worked fine and we had a great trip.
We're leaving next week for a few days in Cloudcroft, New Mexico for their AspenFest. We've been there several times and always have fun, and the Aspens are beautiful.
