General Discussion / Re: CB placement in Ford cab
« on: June 08, 2011, 11:58:50 pm »
We have a firestik no ground plane antenna on the curbside of the roof on our 2900 PC. It tuned great. It is 13.5" tall with a special 15' no ground plane cable.

The CB is the Cobra all in one. Speaker and all controls are in the handset so very little space is taken for the CB.

We also have a Wilson Cell phone amplifier with a Wilson short antenna on the street side of the roof to enhance our cell phone reception.

How is your travel going? Went to the link and got confused.

Route 66 is one of our favorite trips. For example our last trip from St. Louis to Springfield Illinois took four hours because we had to stop at the Rabbitt Ranch, had lunch at the 50's diner in Staunton and traveled the only brick section of route 66 left. Don't miss any of the unique things along the way. PS: 66 went through Kansas also. Irv & Dot.

General Discussion / sleep number matress in slide out
« on: June 20, 2010, 10:52:30 pm »
We just installed a sleep number mattress in our 2008 2900 Crusier.
The foam mattress was 74 inches long. The sleep number is 75 inches long. I measured with slide in and found 74 1/2 inches from wall to wall. When the slide in in our new mattress is against both walls and under some pressure. Will this create a problem for the slide?  :help

The dog and I were able to trap one of our neighbors. He and his wife were new factory direct owners. I was so excited I neglected to get their names. Dumb. The other got away unmolested. Irv

Tips and Tricks / fuse panel
« on: May 20, 2009, 10:15:04 pm »
Has anyone gone to the trouble to diagram or list the current fuse panel? The manual has a layout of the old panels.

Yes I'm lazy and don't want to take the time to remove each fuse or breaker and log what goes off. If I have to - - - I will.

Tips and Tricks / Re: looking for dry camping electrical tips
« on: May 20, 2009, 10:10:55 pm »
Thanks Ron

We have our tv's and the DVD player on power cords so off is off. We still have a 110 drain ( (WH)per the leds on right side of remote).

The ground fault recp hums. I have turned off the recp and the hum goes away. Should I replace the recp?

The inverter still shows a 110 drain with the ground fault off.

We have a 100 watt solar panel on the roof. It has a controller to prevent overcharging.

I'm going to contact Tripp-Lite to see if they have a remote off/on switch.

Tips and Tricks / looking for dry camping electrical tips
« on: May 14, 2009, 10:44:24 pm »
WE've tried to reduce the electrical drain when dry camping.
We have put surge protectors ahead of the dvd player and the two tvs so they are off when not in use.

With both surge protectors turned off the remote on the inverter shows an electrical drain also the ground fault humns.Turning off the ground fault stops the hum but the inverter still shows 110 drain. :help
Can anyone provide instructions on how to fine tune the inverter?

Tips and Tricks / Re: Improvements and Enhancements To Our 2007 PC-2350
« on: January 31, 2009, 10:21:36 pm »
Those are great improvements. Please send me more info on the Entry Door limiter, Window shade string reinforcements, water pressure tank and thow in the front cabinet idea.
We have already moved the little stool into the bath room.
When the weather breaks I'll show you how we stopped the door from swinging shut when the wind blows.
