General Discussion / Looking for Iowa Phoenix Cruiser Owner
« on: May 23, 2019, 06:35:38 am »
Before visiting PhoenixUSA in Elkhart later this summer, we would really like to see a unit in person here in central Iowa. It doesn't make any difference which model; just wanting to get a better idea about PCs before going to Elkhart.

If there is a PC owner here in Iowa willing to share an hour or so showing us their unit, we would be be most appreciative. Just send us an e-mail at dfiu2@yahoo.com or a Private Message if you would be willing to share some time with us.

LUNCH IS ON US   hi5

THANKS,   DICK & PAT SWANSTROM, FORT DODGE IA

General Discussion / Re: How to do deal with dangerous weather?

A good campground owner/manager is also very good to have. We stayed at the Rustic Barn Campground in Kieler, WI last summer. The manager showed us to our site. He then told us and the folks next to us that "some weather" was expected overnight. He went on to say that they will be monitoring and will bang on everyone's door to evacuate to the basement under the store if necessary. Then he finished by telling us what county we were in; very useful information if an alert is broadcast.

The campground was well groomed, clean, and very highly recommended after our stay! and the weather was calm that night...

Steve

Good advice from a great campground. Was there years ago; glad to hear it is still going well

They took my trade-in with no problems.

Peg

Peg:
Thanks for your response telling us you traded with no problem!  We have a 38' Class A Thor Challenger, so believe it would trade fairly, if in fact they want Class A's in trade.

Happy Travels to Ya !! tymote

We were just approved as Forum members yesterday, so are just getting acclimated to the routine. Each forum has its own personality so it does take a little time to get settled in.

Last week I sent in an inquiry using the PC website's Contact form and so far have not received a reply.  So reading this topic does cause some concern. We currently own a 38' Class A, wanting to downsize; Phoenix Cruiser is the best we've seen so far, and we are hoping to visit this summer to see what PC is all about. Respect for and timely responses to current and potential customers is imperative to a successful business.
Not lecturing, just stating a true fact!

Hoping to hear back from them this week. Nice to be part of the Forum!! ;)

Hi DicknPat
Welcome to the forum.  We are also new to the forum having bought our 2019 2552 in March.  We downsized from a 37' Class A and haven't looked back - absolutely no regrets.  PC was the top of our short list and it really seems to be a well built coach.  We had to make a call to the factory after purchase as two of our speakers had no sound coming out of them.  They were very responsive, talked my husband through trouble shooting and fixing (simply was a loose wire).  I'd try giving them a call.

Hi Kristy & Gary: Thanks so much for the nice welcome!! A friendly place here. The 2552 is high on our list to check out....our plans are for a Michigan trip this summer, so a stop in Elkhart will fit in perfectly either coming or going from Iowa. This will give us a chance for a firm trade price, as we will be traveling in our Class A Thor Challenger, so they can see it personally.  Did you trade or buy outright? If trade, did it go well?

BTW, who should I ask for when calling PC. Might as well get with the right person at the beginning & not later!

Happy Travels.....perhaps we'll meet one of these days  meetya

Hi DicknPat!  Welcome to this forum and the Phoenix Cruiser world.

I know this particular thread can seem alarming especially if you have no history with the company.  But I believe they make a solid product and have proved they stand behind it.  If I do not get a response with 24 hours of an email I just assume it went into junk or other electronic oblivion.  EMail ( and website contact forms) are not a reliable form of communication.  I would hit up the website again and if no response call the sales number.

We are currently in the process of building a new sticks n bricks house and have had reason to do a lot of research on products.  My informal testing shows that approximately 20% of my website inquiries were returned by companies.  Even the ones where you click "ready to buy" had a dismal record.  I'm not sure why companies go to the trouble of having a website contact form if no one is actually going to respond.

I also would like to direct you to the Phoenix Cruiser Travel Club ( http://phoenixcruisertravelclub.org/).  Which is the independent owners club.  The 2019 rally is sold out but take a look at the website and newsletter.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, jaytrax !  Yes, I too am used to lack of response from Internet inquiries I've made in the past. As a former business owner, I find it hard to understand. We considered customer requests vital to our business. Telephone is still the best way to get information, but often people tend to let calls roll over to voice mail, and then often ignore calling back. Customer service is a lost art, I guess.

I will check out the PC Travel Club 2o2

H-E-L-L-O. We just joined the forum a few days ago.  Dick & Pat from Fort Dodge Iowa. Currently we own a Thor Challenger Class A, but have made a commitment to downsize to something more sensible for us. The Phoenix Cruiser, at least from Internet research, appears to be a sensible choice. If our travel plans work out, a stop in Elkhart for a personal visit this summer is in order.

I made a post several days ago posing some questions, and was very pleased with all the nice responses and answers to those questions. Looking forward to the near future and perhaps becoming PC owners  woot

Thanks Garmp & Bftownes for getting back to me on this topic. I also Googled Phoenix USA ownership change in the Fall of 2017. Looks like an "up & up" arrangement & thank goodness it's not a Thor buyout (WH) That would have me running the other way...fast!!

Wondering if they entertain trade-ins or is it direct (no trades) only. Anyone know one way or the other ?
