General Discussion / Re: Another Latch Issue
« on: July 13, 2023, 11:09:32 pm »
It's a Southco but according to PC they don't make them anymore.  I went to the Southco website and didn't see anything that would work. PC sent me the ones they use now and they are way too big. I'm not happy that PC can't provide service for an eight year old coach.

The latch pictured is one of two on a compartment of my 2015 2910D. The other one disintegrated and now I have a hole about the size of a tennis ball in my compartment. I contacted Dave at PC and he says the latch is obsolete and has no recommendations on what to do with the hole in my compartment. Anybody have a source for a latch that will work.

Started to look in earnest for the touch up paint today. First stop Ace Hardware, then Home Depot, then Sherwin Williams. Nobody could convert the paint codes provided by PC. Does anyone know where to get the Desert Sand touch-up paint over the counter or on-line?

You nailed it Don. After all this time I didn't know that the center overhead light is controlled by that switch. Well now I at least have an extra fixture if one of the lights burns out.

The outlet works with the generator on. Just doesn't work with the inverter. It did work with the inverter before so that's why I'm stumped.

We haven’t been out much lately. Two elderly parents keep us close to home. But on a quick overnight trip, two glitches surfaced. First, one of the overhead lights quit. The problem isn’t the light, but the feed. It’s getting no power, with or without shore power.  Second, one of the outlets quit working when we’re not on shore power. On shore power, it works fine. I checked all the fuses and no issues there.  It’s a 2015 2910D. Any thoughts?

This is the first RV I've owned so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it does catch the wind. I did about 10K miles on mine last year and only got blown off the road a few times :lol. I don't have any stabilizers.

Rick, I didn't know the weight issues. Do you have a link or could you share the specs.

Thanks, Russ

I have a 2015 2900D.

1. It is equipped with a 30 amp cord but I keep a 50 amp adapter just in case. All of the RV parks I have visited have 30 amp.
2. I routinely tow a small Toyota, but have towed my 22 foot center console boat. I use cruise control with no problems and haven't had any issues.
3. Just like driving a big truck. Only issue is sometimes the back drags when going over an incline at a gas station.
4. I've had no issues finding a campsite.
5. We bought a folding table and keep it under the bed. The only time we've used it was when we had visitors. The small table is adequate for two.

We've had ours for about a year and are extremely pleased.

General Discussion / Re: AC Issue

UPDATE:  Back from RV shop. Tech says "High voltage readings out of control board and fan has very low speed. Found bad run capacitor and control board. Replaced capacitor and control board with new and tested all functions, all working as they should". Total cost was $418 and warranty covered all but $30. I'll take that any day.  :lol

Thanks for all the input.

So I drove the RV down to AutoZone and had the batteries tested. They are in good shape and fully charged. Got home and started the generator. I noticed that the microwave didn’t come on immediately as before. After about 10 seconds the microwave and lights came on and everything worked fine.  I ran the generator for about 40 minutes and then turned on the AC. Again the generator died. I turned on the fan and gradually the AC. The AC unit sounds like it wants to start but the generator dies. I restart the generator and 10 seconds later everything works except the AC. I’m taking it in Monday and I’ll post the results.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I appreciate the feedback.  I will double check everything but I have used it at least five times before parked at the same spot in my driveway; same cord, same house outlet, same everything.  I’ll try again tomorrow and will let the generator run for an hour before I try. The battery indicator gauge says that the batteries are fully charged, but I will visually inspect and check them as the gauge might not be the best indicator. I haven’t even looked at the batteries as the dealer assured me that they did a full inspection.

General Discussion / AC Issue
« on: November 07, 2019, 06:16:11 pm »
This website has been my best source of information and has really helped me get started RVing. I really appreciate the comments and information given.

I have a 2015 2910D. We had relatives in town and needed the extra bed so we parked the RV in the driveway as we have done many times before. I hooked it up to shore power and city water as usual. When my guests started the AC (I’m in South FL - 86 degrees today) the breaker blew in the house.   It never happened before so I reset and tried again with the same result. So I unplugged the shore power and fired up the generator and started the AC. It (AC) groaned for a few seconds and then the generator started sputtering and died. Fired the generator back up and tried again with the same result. The generator is fine and works perfectly until I fire up the AC. Seems the AC is trying to pull too many amps – not good. Any thoughts?

I've only had the unit about 6 months and bought a warranty with the purchase. So I'm not worried so much about the cost but the aggravation is aggravating,

Just got back from the shop. The problem with my NAV system was the SD card. The distributor sent one complementary and it seems to be working fine now.
