General Discussion / Re: Macenator / water pump fuse location
« on: September 06, 2025, 08:42:39 pm »
Jerry:
My Macerator pump was bound up this spring but I got lucky.
Before digging in I tried gentle tapping with a mallet on the exterior of the enclosure with the switch on.
Two taps and it started working!
Been fine all season but I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

Good Luck!

General Discussion / Re: Alternative Fridge?
« on: August 23, 2025, 03:19:13 pm »
Hi Joseph:
My 2020 2552 came with a Norcold DE0061L.
It is a 12 volt compressor fridge that fit into the standard opening.
It needs about 6.5 amps max 12 volts to run. I assume there is a 12volt line at your refer to run its electronics that should handle it.
The DE0061L is now discontinued but this article describes a pop in substitute for it:

https://rvfridgeguys.com/norcold-technical-blog/norcold-has-discontinued-the-de0061-here-are-your-options/

If my fridge ever dies, I plan to look into a Nova Cool RFU9200. It has separate compressors for the fridge and freezer.
The size "looks" to be compatible but have not confirmed it as a drop in.
It is more expensive than the Norcolds but I believe the dual compressors and Nova Cool quality would be worth  it.
Good luck with whatever you decide!

General Discussion / Re: Liquid Springs Suspension Questions
« on: May 22, 2025, 08:55:19 pm »
Hi Ron: I have LS on my 2020 2552.
Have only had a couple minor issues so far:
1) one of the hydraulic hoses was rubbing on the metal wheel well and got minor surface chaffing. I noticed this and rectified at home. It was really a Phoenix issue as I believe the wheel well is installed after the LS is installed to the frame. It was an easy fix but could have become a big issue had I not caught it.
2) small bug I have been living with: when I use LS to raise the rig, which is not very often, the limit switch is out of adjustment so that although the rig goes up as it should, it doesn't go up quite high enough to trigger the switch to turn the pump off. No biggie, just an annoyance. Some day I'll try to adjust the switch a bit.

I have been doing my own inspections on the system and was planning to stop by LS when I was in Elkhart to ask them to check the torques, but a fellow PC owner told me that when he brought his in for inspection, the way they checked the torque was just a visual inspection of the bolts which have lines painted on them to indicate original position. So now I do that too.  :lol

As far as longevity, time will tell. But my understanding is LS has been used on ambulances for quite some time.

Regarding the ride, I think it is great but admittedly have never driven a PC without it. Can say it sure beats the ride of my previous Coachman class C!

Hi, I was towing a 4 door wrangler (about 4600 lbs loaded) up until this year when I bought a 2024 Canyon Denali (about 4800lbs empty).
I do carry a bit of stuff in the bed so I am probably a bit over 5K lbs but have not weighed it yet.
It tows great!
At the same time as the toad upgrade I also added the 5 star tuner to my 2020, 2552.
With that I would say it pulls on hills as well or better than it did with the lighter Wrangler.
I have not had any issues with hills or braking with my Demco Sit in Play braking and Roadmaster Nighthawk Tow bar and base plates. (fun to install  (nod) )
The 5 star also made a big improvement in the shifting.

Here's a question for you:
When I found my hitch name plate it says it is rated for 5000lbs with a 500lb tongue weight -OR- 6000LB weight distributing.

Am I crazy to think that if it is good for 6000lbs weight distributing that it should also be good for 6000 lbs flat tow with zero tongue weight?
Thinking the Push/Pull forces would be similar whether Weight Distributed or Flat Towing.

Either way, I feel safe because I know there is a margin of safety built into those ratings and I am not over by much if at all.
It tows very well and I love the truck.

I haven't noticed much settling but I do use HWH leveling when camping.
When the RV has been sitting in the driveway for a while, the LS does usually need to bring the rig up a bit when I start the engine.
I haven't really paid attention to how long it has been parked or how much leveling up it needs but will keep an eye on it and let you know.

I had my coolant tank removed the other day to disconnect my Trik-l-start because of an electrical upgrade that makes it obsolete. While under there I found an inline fuse just hanging around that I believe (base on wire color) went to my docking lights. It was on pretty long leads so you could probably just feel around under there and pull it up to check. Good Luck.

General Discussion / Re: 2013 2910d fuse and breaker labels, GFI switch
« on: October 19, 2023, 09:37:13 pm »
Might want to check the switch near the entry for the one over the refer. On mine, that light is controlled there so you can turn it on before entering the RV.
Also, GFI's are 120 volts. I think all of the lighting in a PC is on the 12V system so may want to check the fuse box if it is not the switch.
Good Luck!

Glad to hear you're back on the road Ron!

General Discussion / Re: Vroom Slide System

I was quoted $4,500 from an installer in Connecticut. But they do seem to be looking for more money because the PC in different than most RVs  regarding the slide configuration due to the curved wall.
The factory seems more wiling to "get the job done" for that price per the folks that have been there.
Here's a list of the installers:

Wow, Thanks Zolman for this good info!
I will come back to this thread at the first sign of issue with my current hose.
Sounds like a great solution.

Best regards, Jim G.

Zolman: Did you install this as a replacement for your macerator pump? What are the advantages? Thanks!

The PC at the KOA is a mid 2000s white with green lower body paint. Similar to Ron D's but Florida plates and a brush guard over the grill.
