General Discussion / Re: Clear coat peeling off the front cap.
« on: July 24, 2022, 09:23:12 pm »
My 2008 2551 has been suffering from this problem for a couple of years. My cap has been repainted but now the hood and the rear cap are suffering badly,   :'(

Here is a link to the front cap and the process to repaint.

Have both of your VINs handy when Carol calls.  She will likely ask for one of the two.

By both, I assume that you mean the RVIA# also?

General Discussion / Paint codes
« on: September 15, 2020, 03:33:05 pm »
I have finally taken the bull by the horns. I have sanded down the front cap almost to fiberglass. The peeling clear coat was making a mess and looking terrible.
After searching this forum, I’ve searched under the hood to find the paint codes and have found a sticker that no longer has any print on it. I’m assuming that was the documentation.
I need to get the paint codes so that I can recover my poor naked front cap. I have called the main phone number at PC only to get a voicemail (I left info) and I have emailed the technical support email listed under contacts here. Still no response. Am I being impatient to hear back?  How long did it take for your PC inquiries to get responses?

Help!

How about the crank rod for the fiamma awning?  i/ we found that it has an annoying squeak that needs addressing.Just a small rotation and lift stops the noise,    heartshower

 ;) ;)

Thanks Ron!

I'll start with the 20# psi!

When are you measuring the accumulator tank pressure? When the pump is on and pressure is in system or before the system is at zero psi?

My clearcoat issue is not on the hood. It is the fiberglass above the windshield mostly from the roof line down about 2 feet.

I'm closely monitoring this thread.  I have some significant clear coat pealing issues on the top of the front above the windshield. It has mostly all pealed off but looking raggy on the edges. My tire cover as well as a couple of hard edges are also starting to flake.  I have "a guy" who is clamoring to show me his paint expertise, but I'm nervous.

I have purchased a travel trailer from Campers Inn in Kingston, NH about 5 years ago and we had an excellent experience. I will gladly return when its time to update our 2008 2552.

General Discussion / Re: Window glazing
« on: February 10, 2019, 07:17:59 pm »
I bought a neglected 2005 Phoenix Cruiser 2350 that had sat in the Texas sun most of it's life. But it had low mileage and interior was in near perfect shape. The outside was completely sun oxidized and almost all of the exterior plastic and rubber had either lost it strength, color and/or shape. I replaced all the window glazing and found the best deal from Carol at Phoenix Cruiser. Plus they knew exactly what I needed for a very reasonable price. Here are some before and after pictures.

But if you replace the glazing do it in a place where the temperature is over 70 degrees. If done in a cooler temperature the rubber will not shape to the curves properly and the edges may not catch into the metal grooves firmly.

Very familiar! My 2008 spent a period of time in New Mexico and Florida.  I have ordered my replacement glazing with Pellant. I cant wait to install it and have those windows look great!  Someone put a black gooey looking substance on to cover gaps. That'll be my biggest challenge I'm sure.

I'm still wondering if anyone has done this repair?

I have cracks in several of the window glazing on the outside of the windows. The rubber looks as though it has 1. shrunk & 2, dried out and cracked. The previous owner simply covered it with electrical tape.  The window are Hehr.  Has anyone else had a similar issue and / or replaced the glazing?  I am looking for the the "style"  and a good supplier.  Also any tips on removal and installing.

Thanks,
Doug
