General Discussion / Re: Protecting rv from freeze
« on: February 10, 2021, 04:19:35 pm »
I can't locate the switch for the tank heaters. It was advised that it was in the bathroom by the water pump switch, but didn't find it there. Any other ideas. Thanks

Thanks for all the advice. I will have the water drained and turn on the water heater. It is now forecasted to be a high of 16 and a low of 7 on Monday.  Yesterday, my son reported it was 34 outside, 43 in the barn, 78 in the rv. I have a space heater running in the rv. It was been suggested I turn on the tank heaters. Can someone advise how to do this, I have a 2014 2910. Thanks for all the help.

General Discussion / Protecting rv from freeze

I'm in Dallas, forecast is for 10 degrees Sat. night. I am not in the area and it will be tough to winterize. The RV is in a very large barn and in years past there as been no need to winterize, but 10 degrees is the worst we have had. Last time it got cold outside was 25, inside the building was 38.. I'm thinking the inside building temp will be warmer. I can have my son go out and put a heater in the rv, open cabinets and doors. I can also have him turn on the pump and drain the water. He does have the skill to do much more. Do you think I will be ok.

I just got the Ultra Fab casters. The instructions included shows the metal plate on the bottom, the caster side. I will be installing when it stops raining and warms up a little.

General Discussion / best way to wash a rv
« on: December 29, 2020, 10:26:28 am »
My rv is stored inside, but still gets dirty. I have cleaned in the past using a carwash brush on a handle. I don't feel safe standing on the roof, so I use a ladder and the brush, still a lot of work for a fat old guy. Is power washing a good option. This rv is the best thing I have ever owned and want to take care on it. Thanks for any help.

I  ;spoke to the parts department at PC. They directed me to amazon who had a number of options. I ordered a set the uses bolts secured around the receiver hitch.

Thanks for all the information. I will call Carol today to see what Phoenix has available. My Cruiser is a 2012 and as far as I can tell it never had the skids. I have scraped the hitch pretty bad a coulee of times. I did see skid wheels on amazon, even one the was a single wheel that clips on to the receiver, held in place by the pin that holds the hitch to the receiver. I just want to make the best choice. Thanks for all the help.

I'm considering caster wheels mounted to the hitch to prevent scraping on the dip at the end of the driveway. Does anyone have experience and advise in regards to these.

Thanks

General Discussion / Re: Getting furnace running

Thanks for all the advise. I think it just needed the air cleared out of the gas lines. I went back to try turning on again, and it started up.

Happy Holidays:

I'm taking my 2910 out for the first time in winter. The furnace is coming on. Has propane, valve open, thermostat on furnace, set at 75. The heat strip works, but not the furnace. Thanks for any help I get. Rick

With your rv being a later model, I would fix anything I could before selling. A great rv with one bad condition is not the way to go. You may want to check with the PC Elkhart people to redo the seats. I spoke to them and they seem like a good option.

General Discussion / Re: Phoenix Cruiser 2900 questions
« on: February 27, 2020, 12:01:46 pm »
I have a 2910T and I agree with the earlier comments. We went with the 2910 because of the double bed, we weren't interested in the twins. The only major issue we have with the 2910T is the weight, it is at the upper limit for the Ford Chassis. We're carefully about how much we load in and try to travel with the water and waste tanks empty.

General Discussion / keeping a log of trips
« on: October 23, 2019, 07:55:38 pm »
I'm going to start keeping a log of trips. I would like to log miles driven, gas mileage, parks stayed at, general notes about the trip, and things I want to fix or change for future trips. Seems like I forget about fixig small things once I'm home. Is anyone else keeping a log? Can I get ideas. Thanks
