50% sounds about right.  5A x 18 hrs = 1080 wH, or 90aH of battery capacity.

Have you considered LiFePO4  instead? A pair of LiTime group 31 12v 140aH or 165aH batteries packs a lot of punch at 1/3 the weight for about the same price  and can be  safely discharged below 20% capacity.  If your converter can be configured for 14.2v charging, the only additional hardware needed is a dc-dc charger to protect the alternator.  If you might be adding solar at some point,  check out the dual input dc-dc chargers from Renogy that support charging from both the alternator or solar panels.  The difficult  part is figuring out the wiring since PC doesn’t provide diagrams. If you need help with that send me a pm. I made the switch last winter

Voltage adds in series. Current  adds in parallel.

If your old batteries were 6v they were connected in series.

Did you replace two 6v batteries with two 12v batteries?

Two 12v batteries should be connected
(+) to (+) and (-) to (-)

60 watts is really efficient if a single 12v compressor kit really only uses 5A.
After seeing pictures of 2350 with the refrigerator removed I would agree that the insulation has room for improvement, especially on the top.

I saw this thread  about a kit to convert a absorption refrigerator to a 12v compressor type. Looks like a DIY project if inclined.
JC refrigeration also sells  the “Amish” rebuild  kit for absorption refrigerators.

Removing the unit from a PC requires taking apart the entry door frame. It may be easier to just rebuild the old one inside using a drop cloth?  If you need tips or pictures for how to remove it look up Volkemon on the PC Facebook  group

General Discussion / Re: Tri-fold sofa
« on: August 11, 2025, 01:39:11 pm »
If the sofa motor doesn’t turn on check the 20A self resetting circuit breaker. Both sides (green wires) should measure 12v to ground.

Look for a string of 4 or 5 self resetting circuit breakers. In this picture the one on the left is for the tri-fold sofa motor. The green wire on the left side is 12v out. The other green wire is 12v in from the batteries. Voltage from the truck battery  is always present even with the ignition key off. FYI the black wires are 12v for the slide motor, not ground.

Most rv shoppers  have never even heard of a Phoenix Cruiser.

After 9+ years of adventuring around  CA and the southwest Iv’e only seen 2 other PC’s, a 2350  and a 2100.

This website currently shows PC factory outlets in just 5 states.

Maybe the lease was up and they found a better building?  Apple Maps also shows that as the old address of  EQ Systems.

General Discussion / Re: Anyone ever remove decals from your rv?
« on: April 13, 2025, 08:47:34 pm »
In 2016 I was quoted $3k just to remove and replace the decals with custom  vinyl graphics, not even reproduction decals. Instead I got custom  2 color multi-stripe paint work done for $5k. The white between the stripes had to be painted too, so that’s 3 colors. After 9 years of outdoor storage the paint still looks as new except for spider cracks on the side door.

Paint and body work here in CA is crazy $$$ due to the high costs for labor, rent, insurance, Cal EPA regulations, etc. etc. It’s hard just to find a shop with a big enough paint booth. You may  want to search in Arizona or Nevada too

We have a 2006 Phoenix Cruiser 2551. We bought it in 2019 and had the decals replaced. It looked brand new, but the snow and freezing temps have cracked and faded the decals. I just want to remove them. Has anyone ever attempted this?

Serrano - There are several  RV vinyl graphics specialty shops  out in the Riverside & San Bernardino areas. Or maybe ask the same shop that did yours before in 2019?  The pros use a stack of 3M  Eraser Wheels, plastic razor blades, adhesive remover, sweat,  and patience. Yours might not be so baked on after only 6 years.

Welcome, and congratulations!

We use a metal 3 bar over the door hanger type with only 2 bars installed so it protrudes less. If the entry is too tight of a squeeze you could  remove the mirror and hang it on the  bedroom side instead.

I removed mine because it appeared to be leaking down thru the ps wheel well when the washer pump was activated. IIRC that required removing the battery, and a socket wrench and box end wrench to remove one bolt and one nut on top of the fender well. But getting it out was a real pita.

The leak actually  turned out to be a disintegrating plastic Y fitting in the windshield washer hoses. To get to that just remove the windshield wiper arms and black plastic cowling between the hood and windshield. You can buy  a generic Y fitting  at  any auto parts store.  Check that first before you go thru all  the trouble of removing the washer fluid tank and pump assembly. Anyone can take it apart in 15 minutes or less with just a phillips screwdriver.

Does anyone have any idea how many PCs are out there?  Has PC ever released to the public their production unit numbers?   It is so seldom we spot a fellow traveler in a Phoenix Cruiser, I just wonder about these numbers.

General Discussion / Re: Valve Stem Extensions
« on: December 15, 2024, 01:45:39 am »
Looking for a source of custom fitted metal valve stems that are matched to Make, Model, Tire Size, and Wheel Type, I found this supplier.  I haven't received them, but I understand they are not extensions.  They replace existing valve stems and are mounted in the wheel.
