I noticed a little wear in the pivot holes some time ago. This posting reminded me to look at the door this AM. The problem seems to be to be to much pressure in the gas struts. I drilled a 1/16 hole in the body of the strut to relieve the pressure, they now become hangars. When drilling the hole be careful, some oil will squirt out (on my shirt).

In response to "begentle" question on removing the flouresant light plastic lenses on the 2010 2551. You have to get a tool over the top and behind the cover, gently pull out and down.
 I used the thin metal lid that slides over the plastic container from a fuse box.  Bend the flanges flat except for the short flange. Slide between the plastic and ceiling next to the lug pull out and down.

After reading recent posts on sofa tables and dinette redo thought I would send my first post on one of the changes we made on our 2551 w/slideout/sofa.
Since we eat most of our meals outdoors found the table somewhat unusable and difficult for us to get onto the sofa. When not needed for meals we now convert the table to a coffee table.
I purchased additional table legs and had then cut and welded to place the table forward and down to sofa top level. The table is very stable and can even be used as a foot stool. I added clips, idential to those on the table, inside the sofa drawer to store the angled legs.
